Installation error on 360

I'm receiving an error every time I try to install FFXI on my 360. The message I get says there has been an installation error. This happens every time it hits 25 minutes remaining. I've tried uninstalling POL and reformatting my HDD but this keeps happening. This is a new 360 after sending my old one in for repair and getting this one back as a replacement. My copy is the original release with the first 3 expansions. Does anyone know what may be causing this and how to fix it?

Yep the problem is most likely that your out of memory on your harddrive. It can't install ffxi when there's no more room to install. You got the 20 gig drive still? Time to upgrade to the 100 or delete some shit.

I used this same hard drive before and it worked fine. I even wiped it so now there's 9.8 gigs free.

If you find somehting out please let us know. Ive been trying to get it installed on my 360 for 2 years now

It probably doesn't matter, but plug an MP3 player to your xbox via USB and play music off it through the dashboard, THEN try the install.

This is how you fix the "can't read disk" error caused by an improper shut down, so it's worth a try.

(I know it sounds crazy, but I'm being honest. I have to do this like twice a week)

How long did it take you to install before you got to 25min remaining/ And also, what are you installing with? *which version of the CD*

It sounds ridiculous, but I've read other people having success with the previous statement.

to be fair i copied and pasted that heres a simplified version

1. hook ipod up to your xbox360
2. download codec or whatever its called so that your 360 will play aac format songs
3. play gangster rap music from your ipod through the xbox 360 from THE DASHBOARD (i only tested it with gangster rap but feel free to try anything please let us know if other genres work)
4. with gangster rap now playing proceed to put your ffxi dvd into the drive
5. log in and party up!!!!!

My disk gave me error if I tried to install directly through it.

Did copy the disk to xbox > then launch it from HDD and install from there and worked.

9,0 gig eaxtly at my folder. though i have some higher texture version of Areas in it. so it might be a little less.
