Can you link more than one POL ID to a SE ID?

Are you able to use one SE ID for multiple POL IDs? and if yes can you use one token for those accounts?

i don't know about the new SE ID stuff as i haven't been playing but yes one token can cover multiple accounts - i used it on multiple characters on different accounts (as in i could have 2 characters logged in standing next to each other) to give them all the storage upgrade

I believe things are a onetime only link. Unlink a security token, you may as well toss it in the trash cause you will NEVER be able to link it again.

You can link multiple PoL IDs to any SEID account. However, to my knowledge, its not possible to link a PoL ID to account A, unlink it from A and link it to account B. Once its linked even if its not linked, it can only be relinked to the original account.

Which is pretty dumb imho, considering if I randomly couldn't retrieve my account info due to losing access to an older email address. But its the rigmarole that SE demands under the guise of security.

You can't unlink accounts from SE IDs ever. Once a POL account is linked to an SE ID, it's permanent. You can have multiple POL accounts on one SE ID, and a maximum of one token per SE ID, so it has to allow for multiple logins on one token.

There's a sticky topic about this in the main FFXI subforum.

You can multiple login with a single token, but like Blizzard before them, each security code is valid only for a single login and you have to wait for the next new code to pop up in order to login the next account and so on.

Realistically, its only useful to link multiple PoLs to a single SEID if you are always going to keep both. They hope that buy linking accounts that it will lower second hand account sales. Because you sell your SEID as well as your PoL account. This is the biggest reason Blizzard actually had to FORCE people into creating Blizznet accounts and linking them, instead of relying on people to volunteer to do so.

I have 3 POL IDs on my 1 SE ID.
I use 1 token to log in to each of the account.

When I log in to FFXI, I still use each individual POL ID.

I do not believe that you start to login with the SEID until you actually link a security token. I could be wrong, but I believe this is how it works.

No, you still have to login with an SE ID and password without a token, once you link the accounts to an SE ID. Token just adds a second password to the login (SE ID is always saved), and that password changes every time.

Hmmm ... weird, I don't recall having to do so until I purchased my token. But then again, my memory is failing me lately so you are probably correct.

I helped write part of the guide in the sticky, the one for Japanese accounts. I had my SE ID a few months before I could get a token because they sold out so fast.
