    Moving pros/cons

Very soon from now being I'm planning a move to either Atlanta or Charlotte. I am not sure how to narrow it down so Id like some assistance with some Pros and Cons for each of the areas.
Ive only driven through both of them and that is the extent of my knowledge of those areas. I don't mind to much about things like tourist attractions and junk like that, I am more interested in things like cost of living/taxes things like that are important with living in a place like this. I am looking for apartments of at least 2+ bedrooms/1+ bathroom and Ive done minor research at this point to rent costs but that's about all right now.
Any help would be much appreciated!

I would certainly consult an astrologist before doing anything.

you're going to get raped on cost of living in atlanta unless you're content in living somewhere that gunfire is a regular occurrence, charlotte I dunno. if you have a lot of money saved up and are going to be able to land a decently paying job atlanta can work in a mid-tier area.

    To update~
no I'm white as white can be, and astrology told me to stay where I am so I screw astrology!
And the coin was a first choice to help with the decision, was hoping to save that one for later.
I wasnt sure about the crime location of Atlanta, I was primarily looking at apartments that were about 10 min from Atlanta because they were decent price I suppose. I do want to look into more info for crime rates just to try to avoid the area a little, but large city it can really happen anywhere so its at least helpful to avoid the worst areas.
    Thanks for info so far!

Atlanta is nice, of course there are some areas you don't want to walk around at 2am but that's true of any city. It's not -that- expensive to live around there (at least not compared with where I live!) and the mass transit system is good enough that commuting in and out of downtown is pretty painless. Check the MARTA system maps when you're choosing apartments, anything close to the stations would be optimal assuming you're going to work downtown. Driving during rush hour is fucking hell because there's only one major highway that runs through the city and it gets jammed in no time.

And yeah there are tons of black people in Atlanta but I don't know if that would be a problem for you or not

I personally feel Atlanta is a complete and utter shit hole (note: personal opinion). My sister lives there and it really all depends on where you want to live. She just moved up to Smyrna (granted she can still put Atlanta as her address), and her apartment is really nice. She told me the major problem with Atlanta is that areas never really stay the same, changing very quickly. One year location A is very nice and affluent, then a couple years later it's taken over by crime, etc... Atlanta also apparently has a bad meth problem currently. It seemed like every other commercial was a meth warning when I was down there in May.

Both Charlotte and Atlanta are seen as good areas to start out as an adult, but I feel Atlanta requires you to have a decent paying job. Personally, I prefer the DC area, aside from PG county.

I used to live in Buckhead (still Atlanta) and it was always been nice but my townhouse was 3.5k a month for 2bedroom/2.5bathroom, when I was looking further south it was like 1.5k+ for the same layout in shitty areas :z

Do you want to live in Atlanta or do you just want to have quick access to Atlanta?

I'm going to UNC Charlotte in the fall; Is you comment based on a preference for atlanta gay life or aversion to the quality of living for charlotte gays?

i have a few friends in Atlanta, they say it has a very vibrant/active gay community, whereas Charlotte's is quite a bit smaller

edit: but yknow, size isn't everything

Ah, thanks. I'm more of a mellow guy, so this isn't exactly a bad thing for me. Appreciate the info.

According to my friends at UNC Charlotte, Charlotte is a bit of a quiet city.
