Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

In my opinion I thought the movie was great. Jake played a great Prince, and the plot flowed pretty smoothly. I expected worse from Jake, nonetheless for them to slaughter the franchise and chew it up and spit it out at viewers, but I was surprised by the way they managed to fit everything in.

Any supporting reasons? I personally have played all the games so I'm looking more-so for a partial experience to it within the movies. From my understanding most reviews are pretty decent currently.

I hear its kind of cookie cutter, like PoP pasted on the Pirates framework, but that it's decently fun and enjoyable

I mean, opinions vary.

I thought it was good, but then again, I'm not a hardcore movie junkie. It was only because I have played the games before and found the storyline interesting so I gave the movie a shot. I'm happy I went to see it, for anyone who enjoys PoP i'd recommend it, but who knows, you might hate it.

Waiting for video on it but that is because I despise theaters. I was excited about it being a movie though. I read about the makers having serious issues with not wanting to offend with any authenticity in the religion, historical accuracy sectors. I wanted them to put the guy from Lost in there as the Prince but the chances of me liking the movie anyway, are high when I like the game so much.

The only disappointment I had regarding this movie is that my theater has 4 large screens, 3 was for Sex in the City 2 and the other was for Shrek... Leaving PoP to constantly be sold out in the two small screens.

I think it was pretty good - easily one of the better (if not the best) Game > Movie conversions. Granted you have the Persians with British accents, but take what you can get. I'd recommend seeing it, at least in the earlier times with cheaper tickets - but I saw it at full price, 2nd row (was crowded) and the people I saw it with enjoyed it as well.

I enjoyed it.

I think it's one of those movies that you need take as is. It was an entertaining movie with a similar kind of feel as the Pirate movies (If you like PoC you'll probably like this). There were a few plot issues I had though...

I didn't really care for the back story on Daston; He could have been a normal prince and I don't think it would have affected the plot either way. Also after he rewinds to right after the storming of the city; I found it strange that the princess would be like, "You just stormed my city and murdered our soldiers...Yes, I would definitely like to marry you."

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I typically enjoy Disney movies. It's nice to have something a little silly and light-hearted with a sense of adventure and action to it.

Saw this with a friend on Saturday. The entire time I was thinking... "This is generic as you can get. Is it over yet? No? Is it over yet? Still no??" And then it ended. It was about as cliche as you can get. I also laughed that most of the actors were white in the movie, portraying Persians. That's nitpicking, but still.. come on. The humor was awful. Making fun of modern day politics in this movie. Really? Adam Molina is a much more capable actor as is Ben Kingsley. Jake I've never really cared for. Jokes were forced and unfunny. The alst movie I felt this way about was DayBreakers. 4/10

I liked how they stuffed in a couple of Assassin's Creed references on top of the Prince of Persia game nods. My brother and I loled when Daston showed up in the PoP '08 outfit.

It was a bad movie, but yet I still had a lot of fun watching it.

The acting and characters were good though, as well as the relationships between them. The action was great too. They really stuffed in as much of the crazy PoP acrobatics which was nice.

Overall, worth the watch, just don't go in expecting to be blown away.

Script was ok, imo. Overall I liked the movie because I expected it to be more disney and people, I think, are making the mistake of wanting it to be something that it's not. It all moved like Pirates of the Caribbean which was a great movie.

Almost exactly this. HAAAAAAATE camera work on many recent movies. If you don't want to hire competent fight choreographers, make a drama. Hate zooming in on a shoulder or a hand during a fight scene.

Other than that, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was what I expected it to be. Simple and entertaining.
