1.9 Today

Servers went down about 20 minutes ago to apply the 1.9 patch. Gonna be down til roughly 3:30 PM EST (unless they pull a SE and extend the maintenance 3 hours). Just curious while waiting, for those of you who played on the Public Test Server with 1.9, what were your thoughts. If you didnt play on it, what features are you looking forward to and what is gonna dissapoint you?

Personally, I like the armsfusion and the fact I can finally re skin my Daevian set so my assassin isnt wearing a dress all the time

Being able to reskin Miragent will be nice. New hats? Stun counter? Hmm. I haven't began miragent yet actually, since I usually only pvp and grind out ap gear. But it will be nice to get bloods easier...need an MB set.

Fully testing Pet Scaling.
Teleport to Outer Dock.
Bloods.
Getting my crafts to 499.
Extra Quickbars (finally!)
LFG window.

Hmm Stigmas, I can finally get BoB for my ranger. Even though people are telling me it is only good if I take my ranger past 31. Daily Quests, so I'm not just sitting there constantly grinding. Might pick up extra quests to see how much the exp bump was. Remodel able hats and what not.

Not too too worried about the stun thing on my Chanter since our stun is on a 12 second cool down and the stun counter is like what? 10 seconds on a 1 minute cool down? It won't hurt me all that much.

Maybe it'll force fluxes to go down so I could work on expert Alchemy on my SM. But with fluxes being sold on a limited time basis, it probably won't hurt it all that much.

The drop rates for instances looks cool, might farm FT and pray for a bow or something shiny to drop so I can combine it with my flash bow. o.o

A ton of people (and myself) are complaining on Twitter about having to re-download the patch again after having completed it earlier this week. It's like it's been deleted or overwritten by the patch server lol...

One of the Aion guys twittered: "Patch server is very slow or completely inaccessible atm I recommend waiting a couple of hours if you need to patch..." and "The patcher will continue to be slow (possibly unresponsive) for a while due to an initial, 1.9-related spike in downloads."

My take on things...

Looking forward to getting UD finally, even though some are arguing against even socketing it now since we get an incredible stun resist move. I probably still will anyways since I mainly to forts and group PVP. Wish we had more stigma slots though! I don't wanna give up punishment :[

Fuck not being able to gather more until I'm 50, although I think it's only for aether which isn't so bad. I love normal gathering!

Fluxes probably won't go down at all unless the drop rate is upper considerably (which I hope so, nobody crafts -anything- on my server. Gear is few and far between on the TB)

FT ups, okay maybe my other characters can get some nice weapons.

Daily quests look promising, new wings from that is cool.

Can't wait to combine my Heaven Shattering Blade with something else, now I'm just not sure what though.

Hope platinum coin quests are changed in a good way, or in a way that the price goes down per coin.

New morphing things are great, might kill alchemy a bit though...

Dismantling is great. Can finally use the thousand greater aether gems I have been storing up, which means more cheap flight potions!

Aether/Flux NPC prices are disappointing. 3k~ for an aether gem is a bit much.

Can modify my daeva set now, hurray.

But the best thing of all...

I can't start the game anymore, everytime there's a popup window about No_afk by Fyyre and the game just crashes afterward. I've tried googling it but I don't understand jack shit about it. Anybody know how to fix this?

I had the update fully pre loaded and now it seems to have deleted it and is trying to download it all again.

70% of EU people (and myself) had this problem, it's purely down to laggy servers. I strongly suggest you find something else to play untill you go to bed and then leave the download on while you sleep when triffic is low.

You'll find it wanting to download 3500mb, but when the traffic goes down it will notice that you have patch 1.9 already and it will just want to download 318mb (a patch to fix some last minute tweaks, i guess)

Mine has been downloading 318mb for 4 hours now... It says "600kb/s" for like 5 secs then it loses connection and attempts to reconnect for 5 mins then starts DLing again... repeat this for 8 hours and i'll be 90% done.
Ive just stopped downloading for now and hanging out on TF2

I have 200GB free on it, yet I still get the error?
