I don't know if they talked about this or not, but will there be other methods to pay, like prepaid cards or even using an online wallet like Paypal or Google Checkout.. well, that could be impossible, but Prepaid cards wont be bad... especially that nowadays most ppl got bad credit >.>

It's unknown at this point. Their FAQ had Credit Cards listed as the only payment method in North America, but they have since removed that FAQ entry.

I just dnt want that Secure be Visa system to be a MUST like how it is now with PlayOnline on PC. to update my Credit Card info i have to use the Xbox copy... had to buy one just for this.. since non of the Banks where I live have this Secure by Visa system.

Id expect the 3d imaging or w/e crap they use for XI, since its the same company. They will ensure the card is verified by visa and u need to go through some bs in order to do this. Its their way to also limit rmt since its 10x harder to use a stolen card this way

oh yeah, Verified by Visa shit, thats frucked up.. i wont mind paying extra money for a prepaid card if that was the case.

Doesn't SE have a Crysta currency or whatever in Japan? Basically credit for their site. I know it doesn't exist in NA but they could potentially use that system with prepay Crysta cards or w/e here for FFXIV.

Regardless, I thought I heard talk of being able to purchase prepaid cards.

um... just use debit card... works same as credit card. At least that's what I've always used.

This man speaks the truth. There is no difference between credit cards and debit cards when it comes to online billing OR when you are in a store and have to choose between either. Only bonus of hitting debt is the benefit of a cash back question. They get charged the same way.

I dont know, but there is additional fee for using my debit card (cc are free). Not sure if its the same all around the world though, but it's something worth looking if you want to save some pennies.

If you're referring to ffxi then I don't know about that, but if you're talking about general use, they do sometimes charge you a fee depending on whether you use credit or debt. I guess I could google it if I wanted to, but it's my understanding that it depends on how a business sets up its payment system.

That's weird. I'm not an expert on debit cards, but the one I got through my bank has no fees, except overdraft fees if you opt-in for that.

There was no additional fee for using my debit card in XI, nor is there ever for any sort of online or offline purchase I have ever made with a debit card. I've seen tiny mom and pop fast food places require a 25 cent fee, but that's because they're not prosperous enough that paying the fee for the customer would compensate for the sales made.

SE wouldn't be charging an additional fee for debit. You can use your debit as a credit card.

If your particular bank for some reason charges extra for using a debit card, I would switch banks.

I'm talking about general use of your card. Debit card have fee per transaction more often then credit card. Anyway, these fee are minimal most of the time, I'm just saying it's worth checking.

I haven't actively carried cash on me in so long because there's no point anymore. I've used my debit card for almost 10 years, as a credit card, buying shit online, paying mortgage etc, and the only thing I've ever been charged a fee for is 24 cent every month on top of the cost for my old European WoW subscription, which is understandable. With a good bank I don't think there is a such thing as a fee for using your money.

What forms of payments will you accept?

Credit card is currently the only planned payment method that will be available.

Since Debit cards can be used as credit cards, Credit / Debit card is the only planned payment method at the moment.
