Internet Security/Antivirus

My subscription runs out in a few days for AVG, and I was wondering what the general consensus is on what is the best security to get these days. I have about 3 computers I would like to put it on, so multiple licenses is a must.

I don't mind paying but with all the free options is it necessary? I play steam games and do normal internet browsing, not much into downloading anymore.

NOD32 is my personal preference, if you don't feel like paying Avast. Both seem to be the most friendly in terms of resource usage for games, and I haven't a virus or whatnot in years using them in conjunction with Firefox and it's various plugins.

Avast regular is free if you register it (registration is free). If you're using NoScript and adblock, the upgraded (paid) version of Avast is really a waste imo. All the essentials are in the free version.

Not had any problems with free AVG myself, tried Kaspersky for a bit but seems to be a little bloated.

i don't use anything except spybot noscript and adblock, never EVER had any issues with any major virus, never lost any data, never had any problems with shutting down or files disappearing.

antivirus seems like a waste to me if you know what you are doing on the netz
