If Samsung can not fuck this up with screen shortages and their usual poor build quality, this could turn out to be an awesome phone.

Of course given Samsung's history those are big ifs.

It looks a bit too much like the Moment to me. I want to like it but the EVO still calls me towards it lol luckily i get to keep my oct upgrade date after i grab the evo anyway

Given the usual deduction on phones for 2 year contracts, that would pretty much translate to the phone being 50 bucks w/ renewal.

Unless Samsung has a magical goose shitting out Hummingbird processors to reduce the production cost to zero (ok well, the price to feed the goose anyways), that won't happen.

Well, the Epic is a slide phone with nice size qwerty keyboard (Pic).

The one pictured above is a Vibrant and does look alot like an iphone.

Only reason I still would like the LED Flash though is for the convenience of having a flashlight. Shit is so useful and surprisingly good on the N1.

I just use a flashlight app on my G1. Obviously isn't as bright as the AMOLED screen on the Galaxy S but would be interesting to use.

Wondering what the major downfalls for this phone are... I understand that the screen is .3 inches smaller than the Evo and Droid X, but the fact that it has a keyboard blows me away. I'm currently with T-Mobile and I am leaning towards converting to Sprint for this phone when my contract expires in November. Hopefully Android 2.2 will be available for this phone at that time.

Bulge in your pants compared to other galaxy s phones, samsungs not so great promises on delivering updates, having a cheap feeling phone. Thickness might not be an issue but if they get the others right it should be a good phone.

Goddamn, that looks more like the phone upgrade I've been wanting. Ever since HTC ditched hardware keyboards (or I've been living under a rock), I've really been wondering what I'm going to do for a Touch Pro 2 replacement. Assuming the build quality is okay (heh), this looks like it might be a decent replacement.

Build quality on the Vibrant is pretty good. Ive been using it for about a week now and my only complaint is that I didn't get a screen cover for it(it attracts fingerprints like a black Benz @ a Preschool). There are some folks who complain about poor GPS detection but I haven't have any issues Engadget reported that the FCC is in the process of clearing the Epic 4G so we're probably going to see it real soon.

I'm thinking about upgrading to the Vibrant from my G1.


T-mobile refuses to sell the fucking Nexus direct, so I've got to look for other options lol.

They've yet to implement it but iirc, Google has plans to start having T-mobile carry the N1 in all their stores by the end of the 3rdQ. The Vibrant is a very nice upgrade from the G1. Just make sure to get a screen protector.

Saw the vibrant last night on TMobiles site I'm thinking of upgrading from my G1 (and I really like my g1) to the Vibrant too ~ :3

Planned on waiting a month or 2 tho so all the 'glitches' can be worked out. My price is going to be like $200

I also have the G1 and want to upgrade. I've been with T-Mobile for six years now, but the Vibrant is so ugly. I don't want a phone that looks like an iPhone. god dammit T-Mobile.
