halp alt+tab stopped working and taskbar wont bring programs to front

Everything I google on this gives me a bunch of idiots talking about xp or vista or with retarded people and retarded answers telling them to download or buy programs to fix their computer for them.

I'm using windows 7.

Out of nowhere, alt+tab stopped working. Using 2 monitors and playing as many games as I do, I need alttab. It straight does not work while in any form of Aero. If I set my theme to windows classic, it works fine.

Also, while in aero, if I click on a program on my taskbar, it will not come to the front. Lets say I'm here on BG, and I have itunes minimized and want to bring it to the front, clicking on it on the taskbar does nothing but make it flash orange. I have to minimize my chrome window to get to it.

Fuck this is annoying, I'm not using windows classic.

edit: ok alt tab works in windows classic but icons still flash on taskbar and still dont come to the front.

Does Windows key + tab still work? And it sounds like a transparency issue. No idea how to fix it, but most problems with Aero involve transparency conflicting with something else.

edit: maybe go into Control Panel >> Appearance and Personalization >> Personalization: Change Window Glass Colors, and uncheck transparency (Aero will still be on, just not transparent windows) and see if the problem continues.

I got it working again, not sure how. Tried a bunch of things and reset a few times and suddenly it works.

Most annoying shit ever, I think SC2 did it tbh.

Assuming this wasn't a long standing problem that you had for a while now and it was just a short thing.. explorer borked on you. Next time this happens you can most likely fix it by end tasking the process "explorer.exe" and then start "explorer.exe" up again from run or new task. With win7 however I think this kills your gadgets. If it kept happening even after restarting the computer it's possible one of your programs was causing it to screw up.
