So earlier today my good friends and I were discussing sexuality and such. They have coined the nickname "The Flipper" for me because all the men I go for/date or hookup with are completely straight (it seems) until I arrive.

This lead me to say, "I only bring out their inner desires for the same sex," which lead to a long drawn out discussion of if a true straight person can be persuaded to another sexuality. And by the same token can a gay person be turned straight. What is your opinion on this?

I say no that either A)you are or B)are not. No turning and such or anything else by that nature. I just am curious as to what others think about this. (Saying turned and become isn't the proper word to use since it'll begin the whole being born a certain way debate," honestly couldn't think of any other way to word it.)

tl;dr: Can straight people be become gay and vice versa. Truly changed.

There is no answer. How can you be gay and not actually know this? There is actual data that exists ANYWHERE in the world that says being gay is 100% genetic or 100% choice. If you can change from being gay to straight there is currently no possible way to tell if you were always gay and masking it because of societal pressure or if you changed it because cock just feels fantastic as it goes in your ass.

gay and straight are just words, actual human sexuality is a lot more of a grayscale. We only pigeonhole people into the two categories because of culture/history/religion/tradition, when people's actual desires more often than not aren't going to just be one of two polar opposites.

If someone hooks up with a guy it's probably because on some level, they wanted to. It doesn't make them gay. On a basic level, there is no such thing as gay or straight.

I'd agree that sexuality is a lot more fluid than is commonly thought. But of course fear of what other people think inhibits a lot of that for most people.

Well, you say that you had some effect on their "desires". But what about their romantic interests? My guess is that although they might have a limited same-sex interest it doesn't extend beyond purely sexual terms. It seems to me like most people that do that have fun messing around with the same-sex but they are set on being uninterested romantically in the same-sex. It's a different experience they might find out is better than expected, but you probably won't find them in a homosexual relationship 20 years from now.

I think people can switch whether it's because they don't know, or maybe something traumatic happens, such as molestation when they are younger. Although switching on a whim, because you meet some gay guy; seems like you would have at least a general idea about it beforehand.
