I personally knew these dogs, they were smart and very friendly, they belonged to my sister's best friend. They got out on accident, but were never any harm. In the article is clearly states he was advised not to leave his home.

I guess "innocent" in this case would be "non-threatening" or "friendly". The guy who shot them probably wanted to show off how manly he was(by shooting two calm domestic animals). Would a petition matter though?

Two sides here. On one end, no dog should be roaming the neighborhood, the owners will learn to keep their animals confined by this situation. However, the gunman was completely out of line. It is legal in many rural settings to shoot a dog that comes onto your private property. This situation was not rural, nor was it private. He gunned them down in the streets, on public property, with no sign of danger and witnesses to prove it. There's no need for a petition, this guy has no chance at escaping.

Fuck animals. You don't "know" dogs. They're not people. Don't mourn them as if they are. Pets are just fur-covered amusements for preening idiots. Fuck 'em. Better dead than living for someone's amusement.
