Interactive Whiteboard
I have been looking for something that I can use for having online meetings with others where we can toss ideas out and see it in real-time.
So my first thought was I'd like to be able to host my own interactive whiteboard on my website. Then leaders and I can meet on Ventrilo while accessing the whiteboard and using it to gather ideas.
Does anyone know of a free (or even cheap) piece of software that includes something like this? I would love to know, for I cannot find exactly what I'm looking for on the net.
Thanks.

zoho show. Not quite sure its functionality as a whiteboard, but there seems to be some tools on it for drawing and making shapes

Gotomeeting.com?
not sure on the pricing.
Hear this advertised all the time.

Neither is really what I'm looking for, but close. There's a ton of sites that offer whiteboard features for a price or have a free version with limited use/features. Really more looking for something I can upload to my own site and run there off a mysql database. Like something php or flash based that I can host on my own.

Have you tried looking into Elluminate, Merona? Right now, that's what we're doing for some classes at TAD and it works pretty well so far.

I found something that works for the interim. Thanks everyone for the replies.

I see you already found what you were looking for, do you mind sharing?
Also, Google Docs has a Drawing app that can be shared and shown in real-time with others. Other than that, I guess there's Google Wave, but it will be discontinued at the end of the year unfortunately.

I really wanted to use google wave. It was exactly what I was looking for! But yes, unfortunately it won't last and that makes me /sadface.
What I've done for now is signed up for Scribblar. I needed something I could use that was private for only the members, and could be embedded into our website for ease of access and this works. It also lets you "log in" and display names of members. A few of the free whiteboards I found did not have names and just made everyone like Anon_## in the room which was ghetto. Scribblar doesn't have all the security features I'd like, such as being able to lock members out during leadership meetings, or promoting guests to moderators automatically (it says this feature is available, and I have it active, but it doesn't seem to work), and some other small stuff I can live without for now.
Anyhow, works for now and isn't complicated. Still want something I can host on my own, but my research is telling me you need a specific type of server for that and it's costly.
Our primary purpose for the board is for discussion of strategies in real time. Secondarily, for leadership meetings. Right now it's just being used to draw penises. The internet is grand, ain't it?

I used http://www.imaginationcubed.com/ to help a friend with his math homework once, it's kinda limited to what you want to do with moderators though. I don't think random guests can join, but also, the whiteboard can only hold so much drawing before it fills up and needs to be erased
