    SLI/Crossfire works?

Sorry for starting a new thread but I've been wondering.

Is the game still limited to one GPU or can I go wild with my SLI cards?

It will love your SLI cards, the game loves SLI, with 980x and SLI 480 hydro copper I get max FPS even with AO on.
You need to have the most current nvidia drivers and correct an issue with the naming of the game exe (they call it ffxivwin but it is ffxivgame)

Crossfire seemed to be working normally, but it was causing large temp increases so I've gone back to 1440x900 windowed with a single card.

EDIT:: Seems it's still 'working' like in the beta's, in that it works fine for a while then goes back to 50% each card.

They havent released the crossfire profile yet. I did a dump of the latest crossfire profile and did not see any final fantasy xiv stuff in it.

Hmmm. I have a notebook and Alienware(in all it's awesomeness) gets pretty aggrivated whenever I download drivers from Nvidia's website instead of Dell's so my drivers are quite out of date(up to date on Dell's website though, lol) is there any way I can set SLI correctly without downloading the latest drivers from Nvidia? For refrence my DXDIAG says this for my display drivers:

I'm not positive(not sure how to check) but it really feels like the game is running on a single GPU, I posted on both the Nvidia website as well as Alienwares - and still haven't gotten a response. So any help greatly appreciated.

Your game is running on a single GPU if you have not edited the SLI profile and fixed the naming error. You do not need the newest drivers to edit the profiles! Just download the nvidia SLI profile editor and you can add it manually, google will find the settings (for copy paste) and the nvidia profile extractor so you can put it in.

With Forced rendering 1/2 I get half the frames I get using the global settings (1 card) I have no idea how to get around this, lol.

I have a 5970 and both GPUs are working while I'm playing. If I don't turn on AO and DoF both my GPUs will not load more than 60% each. This is when I'm playing fullscreen by the way, because Windowed mode only uses one GPU. Is this crossfire? I guess so because both GPUs are working but even if they are I'm seeing only a small increase in FPS if any vs 1 GPU in Windowed mode.

installed the 460, SLI is now enabled with the 470 and 460 GTX.

Now.. the one thing I am unsure of is how to verify SLI is working with FFXIV

run any gpu monitoring program you want (evga precision and msi afterburner are most common in this thread). If both gpu's are active then SLI is working. If not then you made a mistake somewhere.

Pretty sure It's set correctly. Does FFXIV need to be in FULL screen or Windowed? or does it not matter now in RC?

ok it is in SLI, yet 0 performance gain... I even replaced the 460 with a 470.. 0 performance gain. Does it need to be in full screen?

I have never run it without fullscreen, did you update the nvidia sli profile and correct the naming error?

I used the Geforce_SLI_Profile_Tool is that what you mean? I have the cards using about 90% on each GPU.

It is still performing the exact same... the buffer has to be set to 3/4 otherwise typing "lags" meaning input is delayed... the game plays fine and the FPS is usually 40-60 with or without SLI enabled... I do notice a huge gain in 3dmark though... so that is also where my basis is comming from.

I dont really notice much of a difference with sli 480s but there isnt much of a difference to notice between 50fps average and 55 fps average.
