Guess I should have posted this earlier in the week, but did anyone else catch this? It'll be on again later tonight for those of you who want to catch it but didn't see it. (And it'll be up online tomorrow I'm assuming)
In comparison to Stewart's normal interviews, it was obvious he wasn't interjecting as much as he normally does, but it is the freaking President of the United States.. He made some good points, although I definitely felt it would have been better had it been a longer interview and Stewart actually asked more questions.
He made some good points though. At the same time, I think this says more about the American people, but I feel most people should have expected that he wouldn't magically have been able to fix the economy overnight, so those points were kinda moot. Let's see.. what else.. Healthcare was a big deal and too many people (myself included) might make too big a deal about it, but I personally don't think they got 90% of what they wanted passed (although that might 've just been a number for argument's sake). Wish he had spent more time discussing partisanship specifically though, and specifically ways that he personally could work to fix it. I mean, yeah he can't do it alone, but personally I feel partisanship is one of the most crippling parts of our system. I really liked how he didn't blame either party in that regard though (not as much as he could have at least) and rather voiced his issue with the system in particular.
Have more points I could make.. but they're escaping me and probably won't come back till I watch it again tomorrow..
