I haven't tried it yet, and I searched for a killzone beta thread but didn't see one. Wanted to get this up asap so you guys have a chance to see if it works before getting axed.

Anyway, will this become the official thread? I have great hopes for KZ3, absolutely adored KZ2, especially online. I rarely play objective based games in Call of Duty etc., however in KZ it's done very well, especially on the larger servers where the combat is less 1vs1 and more squad based. I enjoyed roaming around with a couple friends in a tight group slaughtering people whilst advancing the progress of the match. I'm just hoping that they manage keep this aspect, so it doesn't just turn into a deathmatch gankfest.

I'm actually of two minds about the controls being overhauled. I'm in the minority of people who thought that the input lag and weightiness of KZ2 was part of its appeal. Combat felt more drawn out and strategic, rather than a twitchfest that is ultimately decided by who is least laggy. I think as long as you're not able to do 180 whip shots and spazzy flicks of the analogue to just clip someone's leg I'll be happy. Just some fixes to matchmaking to make it easier to join games as a party, and some more indepth features like further custom games options and a theatre mode for viewing past gameplay footage and I think that'd be enough to grab my attention easily for a few months as my online FPS of choice (again!)

Obviously the single player will be great, KZ2's was amazingly fun, just the atmosphere and aesthetics of all the levels was enough to get me swooning and I'm sure that'll remain the same. Overall, really looking forward to it!!

Played it 2 days ago and it was a lot of fun. Beautiful game but holy shit they need to improve the frame rate, it feels like its running at 24fps like a movie. Haven't played KZ2 in a while so I can't really tell if the input lag is gone but there still feels to be a little (probably due to the shitty frame rate).

Played with bots in offline mode on medium difficulty and they're pretty good. Says it's still alpha code when you play it (permanent message on top of screen) so hopefully they can get a stable 30 FPS all around. What I wouldn't give to play this at 60 FPS but I could settle for 30 as long as it doesn't dip below that. This alpha/beta whatever you wanna call it, doesn't have move support btw, hopefully it'll be in the next stage.

EDIT: Also, my memory could be wrong but you seem to have a lot less health in this game compared to KZ2. Maybe trying to appeal to CoD crowd.

Yeah, you have less health this time, at least in the alpha/beta stage.

The controls are somewhere between KZ2 and Call of Duty I'd say. Things don't feel quite as heavy as before, but definitely not as twitchy as CoD. I was able to, probably just because people aren't very good yet, but not too much snapping 180 and killing someone who has already started shooting you.
