BG SC2 Tournament: I want to be the very best, like no one ever was

A lot of people signed up, so I had to split the entries in two group. The method I used for the split was simple: the first name in the first group, the second in the second group, third in first group and so on. I added people who werent sure at the end to prevent a group from getting much smaller if everyone left


So here is the final result for now. As long we don't have any last minutes entries, that should be it

Rules
-You will play 3 games against everyone from your division and report the result here
-The lowest ranked will pick the first map (if one side disagree, go with metalopolis for the first pick). The loser will pick the next one
-Make sure both you and your opponent agree it's a tournament game, and save the replay in case there is issue.
-The season will end wednesday november 10. That's 2 weeks and half to complete 24 matches
-The top 4 of both division will play a semi-finale and finale, and finally, both champion will face each other for the grand finale.

If you want to retire from the tournament for any reasons (you hate losing/winning, busy irl, pc exploded...etc), let me know and we will remove you. The match you played won't count for anyone. You will be removed as well if you haven't played 75% of your match by the end. I want people to make a small effort on their own to figure a time for their match (add them to your bnet list, use pm on bg, post your schedule...it shouldnt be hard.) If you're almost done, we will see what we can do (add a few more days,etc)

Remember the purpose of this tournament is to have fun and get a chance to play against each other. Don't take the result too seriously. If you lose, use that as an opportunity to improves, and if you win...who cares, you probably just played a lot more than your opponent!

I don't see why not, assuming these tourney style setups appeal to the greater BG audience. And is this tournament starting effectively now? >.> Guess I'll take a crack at matches starting monday, if anyone is on.

I don't see why not! Just give me a few hours to add you to the screenshot (you will be in 2nd division)

We could make 2v2 tournament if people want it. I dont see why not. I just wanted to keep it simple for now and see if this kind of format work. Next time, can explore different alternative (low/high league, 2v2, ffa). For all I know, it might end up being a complete faillure, with 5 players completing their matches, and nobody bothering with it.

Yeah, you can start playing your match now. At first, I was going to start it in a couple of day, but what's the point? It's not like anyone has to rush and play immediatly if they are out of town, and we will give them plenty of time to finish. We have a strict schedule to follow, so might as well start now, and end whenever.

Nice, hopefully the matches go as well as signups this time around. 5pm-10pm EST is the ideal time slot for me on weekdays, but if you see me online later than that I can probably squeeze in a game or two. Free just about all day on weekends.
