If you remember, there was a Metal Gear Solid and Monster Hunter collaboration for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. In Peace Walker, Snake went to an island to fight Tigrex and Rathalos, both monsters from the Monster Hunter series. It seems the collaboration went well because now the situation is reversed, where Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is getting Metal Gear Solid goodies.

Andriasang.com have translated the special features that the latest Monster Hunter entry for PSP is getting:

* MHP3rd will feature Snake male equipment and The Boss female equipment. When equipped, your characters will look like Snake and The Boss.
* Your companion Felynes will be able to wear sneaking suits, bandanas and hold knives. When you make your hunter duck, the Felyne will hide itself in a box.
* The game will have sound effects and voices from Metal Gear Solid. This includes Snake and The Boss saying the game's trademark "Jouzu ni Yakimashita!" when you cook meat.

I don't know about you, but dressing up Monster Hunter characters as Metal Gear Solid characters seems pretty cool to me. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is set for a December 1st release in Japan.

Yeah, you could do a free aim by running around unsheathed with R-button down. It was kindda awkward to do though since you're essentially aiming via claw

Yuck, I hope it's not like that in 3rd... I wouldn't even care about not being able to move while doing it either since you're so slow with HBG anyway.
I refuse to play with the claw since it's so uncomfortable.

I am not sure how it's aiming with claw, you just take your finger off the analogue and use the dpad instead to aim, not like you can move whilst firing HBG anyway... was absolutely nothing wrong with it.

So... you can't move while lining up the shot then? (because if you can, what's 'wrong' should be immediately obvious)
Sounds less useful than I expected... still good for at least being able to see around you while lining it up.

You can move with analogue, aim with dpad. Moving fucked up your aim entirely though, so it wasn't all that useful for it. I pretty much only used it for taking out smaller enemies if I was playing solo, felt too finicky for me on bosses.

They should make something where if you hold L while you're aiming with R you can aim using the buttons on the right. I haven't played the PSP games so I don't know if L is used for anything while aiming like that.

Have you guys seen the PSP bundle for the game? Monster Hunter Portable 3rd PSP. Are PSPs region free like the DS? I kinda really like this one.
