The "Cure" for Cancer which the FDA tried to shut down

    Hello,

I know you folks at BG love controversy so I hope you watch the video and pass it along. I hope you feel like me and know this is too important not to share this with everyone you can.

Follow this link to a documentary about the cure for cancer and what the FDA is doing to shut it down. The video is free for today and tomorrow so please feel free to pass it around.

The more people who know, the better.

Reminds me of a story floating around right now where they found a way to make men sterile for a decade, yet they know its going to take forever to get it approved in the states.

I'll be sure to check this out. The government's attempt to suppress this should bother me, but these things the US does to us just doesn't surprise me anymore...

5 minutes in so far. I expect to not hear about a single side effect in this video, and expect to later find out that this cure has a 90% chance of killing the patient, or some horrible shit.

No side effects except for that small accident in Raccoon City.

That is correct. The money from the video sales supposedly goes towards funding. Dr. Burzynski, even though he is recognized by the FDA as a viable cure for cancer, they bar him from receiving any of the $5 billion or so which the Cancer Society receives in tax payer money. (Or the Cancer Society won't give it to him, I forget which.)

It's the first one, according to the video.

It just said "without any damaging side affects". Wonder what qualifies as damaging? -.-

I stopped watching aftre 75 minutes. Not sure why i even watched that much. It just screams SCAM.

    Also, http://caonline.amcancersoc.org/cgi/.../full/54/2/110 .
In this article, clinical trial data on a number of alternative cancer cures including Livingston-Wheeler, Di Bella Multitherapy, antineoplastons, vitamin C, hydrazine sulfate, Laetrile, and psychotherapy are reviewed. The label "unproven" is inappropriate for such therapies; it is time to assert that many alternative cancer therapies have been "disproven."

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I'm just curious as to what this grand scam is that the movie is perpetuating?

The film gives you a quick gimps of Burzynski's history from the late 1900's to present in his battle with the FDA and Cancer Society to get approval for his drug in the USA. It goes on to show how FDA has said in numerous documents that the efficacy of the drug was not being questioned, that in fact the drug showed promise as a cancer treatment. His treatments are currently in Phase III of FDA testing, that means they have found sufficient documents results in two prior phases and are trying to duplicate them again in a controlled setting. Since you didn't finish the film, 300 million is a lot of money for someone to raise for these trials considering he is receiving no government sponsorship.

The Burzynski Institute is recognized internationally, whether or not you think he has been scamming people since 1977 or not. And Dr. Mercola is one of the most respected Doctors on the online environment whom I've come across. Don't take my word though, explore his website and judge for yourself the validity of his opinions and research.

tl;dr: You missed the point of the film which is being promoted by acclaimed doctors and members of the medical society.

    Link to peer-reviewed study, please.

All I see is a tl;dr video on a site selling snake oil, a ton of weasel words, and a man complaining that he's not allowed to sell potentially dangerous drugs halfway through the approval process.

edit: ROFL @ article and comments below the video. Typical tinfoil-hat conspiracy homeopath bullshit.

Yeah I'm sorry there's a way to present an argument without sounding like the Loose Change guys, and this documentary is failing at it on every single level.

I've watched the 75 minutes of the video, read over some wiki pages, and skimmed the paper i posted above. According to which, it has been disproven. I don't know if it works. From what i can tell, it does not. In either case, it seemed like a scam, because

    1) $14 to watch it. It seems to me like if there was any science to back it up, he would be better off making sure as many people as possible see it, so people know how the big mean FDA tried to throw him in jail, and fine him millions of dollars for using his miracle cure to treat his patients. Surely he could make more from donations, and raised awareness then he could by selling dvds for $14?

    2) According to wiki, these drugs cost over $100k/year. Seems like he's got a fuck ton to gain from this.

    3) the video was entirely one sided. Not only was there no mention of side effects (closest being "with no destructive side effects"), but they had women come up with their little kids crying, etc for like 20 minutes. That shit does not belong.

I don't have cancer, or plan on getting it (ya lol), so i honestly don't really care either way if it works. If so, that's great, and i wish him luck. However i find it extremely hard to believe that it is anywhere near effective as he claims, if at all, and and 30 years later, no one else has had successful trials, etc.

tl;dr: You missed the point of the film which is being promoted by acclaimed doctors and members of the medical society.
Seemed more like he wanted people to be aware of his crazy expensive drugs, and how shitty other cancer treatments are, but ok.

So this guy spent a few decades curing cancer before the FDA shut him down until he could prove his treatments work, and he's spent the last 18 years without producing a single peer-reviewed study showing that they do (Despite his in-progress trials being very small and some of them having wrapped up several years ago), and yet he and his cancer cure are so obscure that he has to package his life's work as a PPV special a la Lusty Mechanics 12 in order to get funding?

Why so personally interested? This guy promise to cure gullibility after he finishes with cancer?
