Site for PC Builders?

I'm looking at building a new PC for grad school after I graduate in May, as my current one is a four year old Dell XPS that has served me well, but is starting to show its age. I was wondering if there was a particular website I should look at as far as gauging when the best time to build is. My main concern is that I'll spec out parts, order them, and then within a few months some major new development in processors or other components will happen, and I'll have spent a lot more money than I really needed to--sort of like the people who wind up buying an iPod or other Apple product near the end of a cycle who pay full price for something that was just made obsolete. Aside from Moore's Law, is there any similar concern as far as PC building?

Eh, it's kind of like asking which video game site to watch for news. There are quite a number of sites that have timely hardware news and reviews. http://www.tomshardware.com/ is good, but has loathesome ads, http://www.anandtech.com/ http://www.hardocp.com/ etc. All three of those also have active forums that will likely cross link anything they come across.

Offhand, Sandy Bridge has a more enthusiast oriented chipset coming down the pipe (Z68, some info here). As per the article, that may only be a month or so out.
Socket 2011 is also supposed to be coming in the fall, which will be the actual replacement for socket 1366.

AMD is set to launch a whole new platform soon as well. Supposedly in a late June timeframe.

Apple is kind of the exception to most tech companies, since there are usually announcements/roadmaps/previews/etc out there for most others if you look.
