I know PSN is down still, but I cant download the system update. Is that because the network is down or is my shit being screwy?

Hm, I can check to see if I have most current update-- And, it says I do have the most current update. [So, it doesn't appear to be an issue with PSN being down.] Although, Sony shutdown more than just PlayStation Network likely.

Lastly, if Playstation is trying to secure its system with this maintenance, it makes sense not to allow users to download the most current update... but, I believe you can download the update at Playstation's website...

Gran Turismo 5 is an option but is that really that much of a change over from someone who played all 3 forza games to death?

If your really into your sim racers, then yeah. The graphics and physics are quite a step up from forzas, although its a much better experience with a wheel.
