Fixing a crappy DVD's audio - VOB file help

I'm in Afghanistan, and I got a ripped copy of the new pirates of the Caribbean.

The DVD lists two folders:
AUDIO_TS
VIDEO_TS

Under Audio_TS there's nothing, but under video_TS I have:
Video_TS.bup
Video_Ts.ifo
Video_ts.vob
Vts_01_0.bup
Vts_01_0.ifo
vts_01_0.vob
vts_01_1.vob - 1 gig file aprox.
vts_01_2.vob - .5 gig file aprox.

the other files are below 100k.

Now the movie plays fine, with audio, but the audio is like 15-20 seconds off, and is annoying as fuck, to the point of un watchable.

I have Adobe cs5 master collection installed, but i'm still learning the in's and outs of just picture editing but I know it has alot of programs to work video files also.

Is there a way for me to tear the VOB into a video, and an audio file, then re-combine them with the ability to sync the audio correctly?

I don't have nero, but i can get it fairly quickly from some of the folks around here.

(oh and if your like "omg your pirating stuff!!" fuck off, there's not alot of movie theaters around these parts ((as in any)) and having all of the pirate movies on Blu-ray already, i'm sure i'll be paying for this one when i get home.)

Do you need it to be turned back into a DVD to watch, or is a video file of some kind fine?

Reason I ask is that most "manual" guides for ripping DVDs will include demuxing as part of the process - audio usually gets extracted to .ac3, compressed to MP3, and remuxed.

What I've usually done recently is just rip the DVD with Handbrake, and use MKV tools to pull out the audio track to edit (in my case, combine with Rifftrax audio), then merge (or usually add) the edited track back to the MKV.

You could probably also follow something like this http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/2...-delay-problem (the site there has boatloads of tutorials and links to tools anyway). I just personally don't put things back on a disc.

I wouldn't be either, if i can rip it to a video file and then to an audio file then recombine them into one file, that i can watch, i will blow that shitty dvd up with some c-4.

Sounds like a shitty rip job if you ask me. Only way to fix that would be to rip off and put back into DVD format like above. If all else fails you can try here www.doom9.org . Some old school ripping stuff there but most of the software is up to date and the people on the forums are really knowledgeable on different formats. But then again you might not even want to invest your time into reading up on all that stuff. Any time I have used adobe products in the past to do movie editing I wanted to punch my monitor...I despise premier...would rather go with freeware or "another product." I haven't messed with premier in a while but left a bad taste in my mouth

As suggested, HandBrake to MKV is going to be your best bet. MKV is a container for multiple audio, video, and subtitle streams. It's functionally comparable to what a DVD can do. You can then use MKV editing tools to extract the video and audio streams, and recombine them after edits.

AUDIO_TS is for DVD Audio discs. VIDEO_TS is for all the data on a video DVD. You can point HandBrake to that folder to generate coverted video files from the contents.

The AfterDawn forums will probably have guides and programs for how to deal with this sort of problem.
