Considering that not a single Japanese RPG has ever done such a thing (ever), this clearly was a cheeky move on his part.

Luke was a sort of refreshing in that he wasn't the typical male lead (even though he is utterly annoying in the beginning.) Yuri is probably still the best male lead that they have had yet.

One aspect I appreciate about Tales games is how every character is developed in some fashion, more so than in most RPG's. Even Repede had some fucking character development in that game, and the dog never talked.
