RIP Blockbuster: Ever have rental battles over snes/genasis games and delete saves outta spite?

Let me preface by saying there was a time where blockbuster was the only place in time to rent games depending on your area.

Besides sometimes spending after school playing games in the display cases you could get a 3 day rental for 5 bucks or a week for $10.

Back then cartridge games were like $70-80 iirc. A steep price for someone on allowance. The problem was that I was an rpg nut and it took a long ass time to
Beat those games. Worse yet since back then RPGs weren't that popular, there were only 1-2 copies in a store.

So we would have rental battles (at least in my mind we did) a game of chess of who could get their first before the game was taken.

There was this one older guy who always had the upper hand with me. So I decided to delete his high level saves outta spite before he could finish them.

Am I alone in this?
