Tethering XI?

[Gredival]

Phone: Galaxy S (Captivate)
Carrier: ATT
Tether Program: Barnacle
OS: Win7

XI works fine on wireless/regular network. The laptop can surf on tether (posting right now off tether).

However XI does not work through tether, it just hangs while trying to connect.

Any ideas?

Likely to be an issue with ports. Most of the time carriers only open a few select ports.

I don't think its ports on the carrier side, I use to play ffxi tethered through my att phone all the time.

However, i've never heard of barnacle. I've used PDANet, and MyWi to tether with ffxi no problem.

Download EasyTether -- it has DNS resolver and UDP passthrough options for VPNs/games/other applications.
