I'm not kidding either, the box just contains common rocks like limestone, quartz, shale, all the shit you'd expect in Geology. I've already taken a Geology course, but it was a 3credit course not a 4 credit, so this college will not accept the transfer because it REQUIRES a lab they say.
I emailed the cashiers office and asked if this was just something to offset the cost of online courses compared to on campus, as I was sure there was a cost difference...but it turns out there is no difference in cost at all between on campus and online courses the college offers. Better yet, even if you take this course online, you STILL have to buy the box of rocks because the college won't even supply you with these items in the lab.
Has anyone else run into this? I asked the cashiers to give me the email of a Dean of faculty I can speak with because I think this is pretty fucking absurd. I'm on a tight budget, and dropping $100 on a box of rocks that I am 100% sure they won't buy back from me is pretty goddamn outrageous.
