Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (PS3/360/Vita)

The latest game in Namco Bandai’s Dragon Ball series is Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, a team melee action game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PS Vita, this week’s Jump reveals.

The game will feature four-player co-operative play, eight-player Battle Royale, online multiplayer, and huge boss battles. Super Saiyan God will also be playable.

Release date and price have not yet been decided.

The last Dragon Ball video game to launch was Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011.

Fuck yeah Legends. They're getting it, though; stop focusing on tired 1v1 and incorporate large battles. Even if the shit was nothing but a Legends retread with 1v1 human players with 2 bots per team or something, it'd still be an improvement.

I look forward to seeing this game in action. I'll really look forward to seeing the first Next Gen version, though. With the increased power and RAM, hopefully we'll start seeing more than 1v1.

2 things:

1) It wasn't garbage at the time. I imported all three, and the other two were ass, but not legends. All of them have worth because Ryo Horikawa was young back then and could properly scream "Final Flash" with Vegeta, especially Ultimate Battle 22.
2) It was the concept that was amazing moreso than the execution. Three on three, teleporting across entire maps, ect.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Z Has What If Scenarios, Playable Characters From "Battle Of Gods" Film

We met with Shohei Seiki producer of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z during Anime Expo to get more information about the upcoming fighting game. Seiki confirmed the game will have “what if” scenarios like the other Dragon Ball Z games. He wouldn’t detail any scenarios, but during the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z panel, Vegeta’s voice actor hinted that it might be different when Goku and Vegeta meet the first time.

Another scenario made for Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z has players fight all of Goku’s family – including Bardock.

Missions in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z are shown from the perspective of being good or evil. Villains can team up with heroes in the game, but they won’t be appreciative when good characters share energy or heal them.

Seiki confirmed to Siliconera that there will be characters from Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, a movie released in Japan this past March. Super Saiyan God level Goku will be in the game for sure. We asked about Birus and Seiki didn’t say no… so…
