On the road and I no longer have cable.
Is Jeselnik on this one?
He is... him, Amy Schumer, Jeffery Ross are the holdovers from the Charlie Sheen roast.
I can totally see Shatner or Hef getting roasts because they are (or were) popular personalities that have a reasonably large body of work to cull jokes from. Roseanne just has a large body and little work. Just the show Rosanne pretty much?
Wayne Brady killed it as did Amy Schumer.
Nobody closes a roast like Gilbert Gottfried. Jesus...
Shatner got roasted already.

I still have no idea how they decide some of the roasters for these.
After last roast I was glad they did bring back Schumer and Jesilnik guy cause thought they were funny, but I dont get why they bring back princess leia chick.
Kate Seal makes a little sense at least considering she was also a mom on a sitcom at the same time as Roseanne, plus her CC connection via Futurama, but Seth Green And Wayne Brady? I've only just started watching it on a rerun and only made it past Seth Green, but I already feel myself feeling embarrassed at how all the roasters only seem to make 1 single joke at Wayne and its always about not being black.
Did they leave in Ross's jokes about Aurora?
He made some joke about Holmes looking like Seth Green then said the difference was that Holmes did something in a theater that people would actually remember.
ah. I don't remember that joke but it's possible I might have missed it since I wouldn't have understood the joke because I didn't know the dude's name.
edit; went to youtube to see if I recognized the joke by hearing it and after hearing the joke, it definitely didnt air. though the title to the video I found answered that for me as well.
3:11 for the joke
pretty sure they even cut out the little bit before it, mentioning middle earth
Shit, I didn't even know about it. Will have to look for repeats and dvr it.
Carrie fisher was a has done writing work for the Rosanne TV show that makes sense to me as to why she was there. All in all was super tame unless there are more jokes that were cut out of the broadcast version, with the exception of Tom Arnold and Gilbert Gottfried it seems like most of the jokes are at the expense of the roasters themselves. Was entertaining I guess but the format is getting stale imho.
The format has been around for 60 years.
Right but there use to only have a roast every few years or so til comedy central started making one a year with reruns every month.
His bit was completely retarded and made no sense, but I cannot remember laughing harder at one of these roasts than at the Gilbert Gottfried bit. Holy shit. My only criticism is he stopped half way through and got sidetracked which really dulled the insane momentum he had going. How does someone scream like that for that long?
Other than that, I didn't think there were too many duds, but I didn't feel like anyone else shined except for the excellent awkward Tom Arnold bit.
Gilbert has done some amazing things at these roasts. Telling the entire "Aristocrats" joke right after 9-11 was amazing. Had the whole panel rolling on the floor while the audience didn't get it. lol I am pretty sure they've always done these once a year, but CC has just started televising them the last few, which is why it seems "oversaturated". They rerun the roasts for three weeks leading up to a new one and 3 weeks after it...makes it seem like they're on four times a year.
