Made appt with Dr's office on Monday. I don't have the money to go to the ER or Urgent Care until Friday, the DR's appt is Thursday.

So give me home remedies for flu/pneumonia like stuff. I just need to suffer through 2 nights of work, help me out BG.

(also, in before go to the doctor. I am! Just not as fast as I'd like)

rest, fluids, don't be a dumbass. standard shit. if it's the flu there's nothing you can do except treat the symptoms anyway. theraflu and nuke the shit out of yourself and just sleep through it if you have the money for the medicine. best of luck!

If it's really bad see if work will let you have a few days off. Just rest during those days. And yes, drink lots of fluids. Clear fluids are best, tea, juices, etc. try to avoid soda or anything really sugery. Most over the counter medicines don't do much for the flu. I don't know about Theraflu never tried it. If you have a fever I would take two ibuprofen.

Theraflu works pretty well at limiting the symptoms. Force fluids. If/when you throw up or have diarrhea, force more. I'd probably bump up to four ibuprofen if you're feeling especially shitty, just try to take them with food (if you're eating). If you aren't getting much sleep as a result of diarrhea or vomiting, try to limit the caffeine intake. Rest, fluids, and comfort measures (ibuprofen and theraflu) are your friend. Don't take cough suppressants or peptol bismol.

With my weakened immune system, I get fevers fairly often. Wrap myself up in extra blankets, drink lots of fluids, sleep it off. Eventually I wake up in the middle of the night sweating and unbearably hot. That's when you know the fever broke.

Alas, I don't have any remedies for full-on flu symptoms. Much more rare, knock on wood.

This. When I have to bear through a shit flu storm I double up with Alka Selzter too and can function practically normal, there's a ton of acetaminophen in both of those though.

If it's flu type problem, going to the doctor is a waste of money.

If it's bacterial, then antibiotics will help. If that's the case, I'd go to a minute clinic and have them test you. (Cheaper, I'd think) Give you antibiotics and go from there. Even if viral -- Still going to wait it out. Antibiotics won't harm you (I don't think. Unless allergy to penicillin things.) but will help in getting better, but even then it'll be a few days.

Waiting game no matter what.

If you really want to feel better, stay home and rest. Going to work will just spread the sickness more, and increase your likelihood of getting sick again.
