Annoying Phone Calls

For several years now, our home phone has been getting these calls where all it does is beep. You pick up, then a second or two later it just starts beeping. My dad thought it might be someone trying to send a fax. It's usually not very frequent, maybe one or two a day, one or two days a week. I hang up, go back to whatever.

Today it's been happening roughly every 15 minutes for the last 6 hours. I'm getting very angry. How do I block this number, or otherwise make this shit stop?

If it's a cell phone getting the call, you should be able to log into your provider's site and set up a block, usually getting a small amount for free with many eventually requiring extra cash. Not sure about land lines, but mark down the number to see if it's similar, coming from a specific area code, or whatever. There was a point a couple months back where I just kept getting these strange beeping calls on my cell every 15m. Googled the number and found others had also gotten similar, relating it to some computer system based in Texas, I think, and some people trying to sell/scam shit. I forget the exact details, but it basically led to me turning off my phone until I got the block set up.

contact your phone company, it depends by state and country. Some providers will only block a number with a police report, which is obviously annoying, but others have very convenient *## commands that allow you to block a number yourself although it may cost you around $5

Just go send a fax back to that number explaining and asking to stop. If it is a fax machine, it's probably an accident. The redial you're experiencing today sounds like a machine that's set to keep trying until successful. We had this happen at a job I had once, when we got the fax we realized what we were doing and stopped it.

Fax them images of horse cocks, every time I had someone annoying who kept texting me, I'd just spam that in a picture message lol and they stopped

No, we don't. Unless you count a cockatoo parrot who can break eardrums at 100 yards. It's a land line, and we don't have caller ID, so I don't know the number. I don't know for sure if it is a fax machine, that's just our best guess for what it is. I'll have my dad talk to the phone company about it. It seems to have stopped for the day, though, so my rage has subsided somewhat.
