[Guns] Looking for a gift for a friend with an AR15

    Here's some background:

Basically me and my 3 friends do a secret santa every year, not very secret when there is 4 of us and we all know who has who like 2 months before christmas.

This years theme is "Tactical." The gift MUST be tactical in some way, shape, or form. We joke about how we kind of have a squad ala-battlefield, and joke about the zombie apocalypse, so things in that genre work very very well. The squad thing is actually funny considering the weapons each of us own and such. One friend has a Saiga, one an AR15, I have a bolt action etc. Most of us come from military families or have some military experience as well, we're mostly paid firefighters or cops now.

Our price limit was originally supposed to be around $150. However, that seems to be becoming more and more of a minimum since my one friend was joking about getting $300 laser grips for my cz75.

I got the friend who hunts, has an AR15, has plenty of survival gear and equipment and is pretty well prepared for the most part. He just spent 3 months in Antarctica and they supplied him with a huge clothing allowance so he bought lots of stuff he generally wouldn't have bought, that would have made great gifts had he not bought them.

He has a holographic sight and 4x scope already for his AR, but has mentioned in the past that he could use a bipod. Since I thought a foregrip would also be cool, I was thinking of getting him a Grip Pod. Specifically the military model since its heavier-duty and its more expensive lol.

This puts me just around the $150 price, and really its hard to shop for an AR without going to much higher extremes money wise. I don't know the exact model AR15 he has, but I can't really go wrong with a rail accessory.

Any thoughts, recommendations or ideas? I see a lot of posts about the Mako T-pod but I don't like how it splits the foregrip.

While that thing is incredible, I was literally told if I bought him a knife he would kill me with it. He has a million knives for all different things since he hunts and whatnot, plus that thing is a little out of my price range.

The grip pod sounds about perfect, I'd stick with that.

The only thing is I trust this forum more than I do any hundred random ones I find through google, and if anyone has any hands on experience with a grip pod or mako tpod it would be huge.

Nothing quite says your appreciation for ones friendship quite like a bayonet.

Zombie apocalypse? Then you'll need yourself a splatter guard, get him one of these thingies, from The Living Daylights, Dalton's first Bond movie:

I'm sure its very practical for use in the real world. Strangely I'm having a hard time finding a retailer that offers them. Even Google is being difficult, maybe a gun aficionado will know the proper term for this peripheral.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

I was going to say, do it right and get him a ticket to some kind of zombie experience, but apparently only the UK wants to be prepared.

We've been trying to do this as a group for a while now. There are some things in the US that are pretty decent, but the UK ones and other international ones blow them all away.

grip pods depends on how much you spend on them, some are shit and some can be good. Mako products are iffy.

might try something like a new stock people love the sopmod:

    gas buster charging handle:

    new trigger set:

    KNS pins are a must:

once you get to a certain points on an AR (when he has a setup he likes) its hard to get gifts for that particular gun and then it becomes getting another gun or upper.
