    Music Trackers other than What.cd

What.cd is impossible to keep a good ratio so on so I need an invite to another music specific tracker. Anyone have one to waffles.fm or something like that?

Here's some good ratio evidence on other trackers.

It's not that hard. The highest snatch count for any torrent i've downloaded there is 70, and i've got a .95 ratio with 10.3 gb uploaded (required ratio is 0). Transcode any flacs you download to missing mp3s, and download the what.cd toolbox (and maybe some other often downloaded freeleach torrents), and it really just shouldn't be that hard to keep a decent ratio. If you really need some more though, you can always download some recently released album from a popular band.

I've had an account with what.cd since it was oink. Back when it was oink I never had a problem but when it changed over for some reason I could never keep my ratio up. I downloaded all of the most snatched torrents(big beatles collections and shit), had a folder of stuff I downloaded specifically for ratio, including the toolbox, but I never saw any data going out from my bit torrent client(utorrent). I was connectable, and I've had no problem on other trackers. what.cd is just so saturated with users and the files are so small, it's hard to ever get anyone actually connected to me.

It probably did not help that my music tastes are not very popular and everything I downloaded for listening purposes, no one wanted.

ditto on this. About 2 years ago I kept ratio there with no issues. Now, it's like pulling teeth. You pretty much only ever get upload there now if you post new things.

The single easiest way to get ratio on what is freeleech. They haven't done one in a while, but when they do staff picks, grab EVERY SINGLE ONE IN EVERY SINGLE FORMAT AND SEED. Do this 1 time, and you'll never worry about ratio on there again. For reference, doing this twice, put me in the 94 percentile of upload.

You can do even better: download your FLACs from somewhere else (or, if you own albums that are already on the site, rip your own), and then encode those as 320, V0, and 192 MP3s. Where your lossless source came from doesn't matter. Therefore, this approach doesn't negatively impact your ratio at all, but does strengthen your presence on the site.

Now, you may eventually get penalized if the MP3s you encode and upload have problems (e.g., cracks and pops, horribly muddy sound that suggests transcoding, et cetera), but the simple solution is to never upload garbage. Just because you find a lossless source outside of What.CD's borders doesn't mean it's crap, but you should check before you encode.

Additionally, if you can't find a lossless source of something, but can find good quality MP3s that aren't on What.CD already, you can always add those.

Thanks for this tip. Staff picks went out 2 days ago. I grabbed them yesterday, just in one mp3 format each, and already got 1 gb up out of it, in one day. In the last 8 months, i had only had 10 gb up total.

Soulseek is still alive btw. It was probably the best network for music back in the days. Not anymore but still correct.

I do, if you have proof of ratio on another site.
