Unfortunately it looks like that agent handed you some outdated information. Players will in fact be able to apply CE items to their existing characters. All CE items are available to any character on an account where the registration is applied. This includes existing characters (1.0 created characters), and new characters (characters created now and going forward on that account).

Sorry for the mix-up, we'll work harder to make sure our agents are working with the most up-to-date information to prevent miscommunications like the above.

That doesn't make sense. You may have to wait until early access to APPLY the codes, but it wouldn't make sense to have to make it on a new character. As with codes in other games, you should be able to apply them after the character has been created. It should have anything to do with the creation of the character itself.

I'd say it has more to do with the customer service team having no idea what's going on. Or that person misunderstood the answer they received.

The answer received seems clear as day and not really room for interpretation. I read it several times over and pondered it in the chat.

Is the CE stuff a separate code from the CE account? This is really ass backwards but...

I'm 1.0 CE here too so I'm only concerned from a business this is really stupid standpoint or a customer service person, you are misinformed standpoint.

Hopefully this isn't true, would really throw a wrench in my Phase 4/Early Access plans.
I can't imagine what limitation there is that the items couldn't be "delivered" to your character upon release.

I'm sure we don't need to worry about it. 1.0 CE people got their items during beta through the moogle mail system. It shouldn't be linked to character creation.

Those items are account-bound along with the goggles and any other CE/preorder crap.

I think the only bonus item you probably won't see on a freshly created character, regardless of server-type, is Hermes Sandals.
