I need things to spend my GC seals on.

I have tons, and I'm not ranking up yet because AK is a pain and I haven't even beaten the main story yet. So, not for some time.

So, while I am levelling my second class in FATEs, I am getting tons of seals...which I have no idea what to spend on!

Since you can't store the seals, I need to spend them on something...but what?

Any suggestions? What do you guys do with your seals?

GC gear for lower levels, EXp scrolls for gathering and crafts. Dark matter for repairs.

Unless you're at 50,000/50,000, save them for the next rank that will be added in a future patch. There's no reason to "waste" them on gear unless you need it specifically for a job. I sit at 45,000+ at all times and only spend when I cap out. Then I buy the expensive items and will hold them for the next patch, at which point I will trade them back in for seals (yes, at an 80-90% loss, but it's better than tossing it) to buy the new gear with.

    I second this.

I'm not even sure new GC gear will be worth it.

Unlike 1.0, it seems like GC gear now is slotted pretty low on the totem pole. Right now, GC gear seems to be about 6 tiers from the top (iLV90, iLV70 crafted, darklight, iLV60 dungeon drop, iLV55 crafted, GC). If that continues to be the case, I wouldn't spend seals on any endgame GC gear.

The weapons are pretty much the only things worth using past 50 aside from a few token pieces (ex. LL officer boots are pretty baller for mages).

For crafts and gathering the GC gear have been amazing stepping stones while leveling up. Indeed they are not the best at 50 though.

Crafting GC gear is a good stepping stone to AF if you'd rather burn seals than gil.

I just wish we'd had some prior warning that the top GC weapons were going to be garbage in 2.0.

I traded in a bunch of moogle weapons for seals since they were inferior at the time....

Yeah already got all the crafting and gathering GC gear. And a point reset. And full sets of Crafting/Gathering Manuals (6 in total) When most of your levelling is FATEing, you get a ton of seals.

Wish they brought down the seal prices on Dark Matter so I could sort of convert seals to gil...

With the way gear is structured, I'd be surprised (pleasantly so) if any seriously viable pieces comes from GC seals from here on out.

Agreed, going by previous systems like this (see Cruor Armor in FFXI, even CP gear in XI) the gear that comes from it is meant as more of a default standard for the level.

Given the ease of earning points they'd be silly to put anything truly valuable in there.

Considering the ease of Fate Grinding, yes, I don't see them ever putting anything truly worthy there. I see them continuing to do what they have now: allowing each new tier of GC introduced to serve as a safe "intro" for fresh arrivals to the level cap. Whenever the cap is raised, I suspect the seals will serve a similar purpose.

Maybe they will add more 20,000+ GC seal items... or even up to 50K seals...!

Hmm, what exactly is available with Rank 3 though? There doesn't seem to be any info online and the game itself blocks me from seeing what's available.

I know there are Level 50 Weapons, but what else? Any good items or armor? If there is nothing great then I may hold off on doing AK and my Rank 2 targets.

I can't speak to other weapon types, but Flame Lieutenant's Bow stomped the hell out of Mogbow in 1.0.

Basically, the exact opposite of how it is now.

That was the exception, not the rule.

BRD was all kinds of backwards in 1.0 compared to other DDs, they didn't need accuracy because DEX covered that and they favored Attack DMG over DPS and base stats because a disproportionately large amount of their damage came from AA (light shot) than from WSs.
