Hello, everyone. I'm just going to go ahead and add our charter here, since it summarizes what we want from applicants, as well as what we offer.
Server: Midgardsormr
FC Name: Chainspell
Website: Chainspell.com
Chainspell strives to be one thing, first and foremost-- fun. All else comes second and caters to this key ideal. We are a collection of players from various MMORPGs and a myriad of backgrounds, though those familiar with FFXI may recognize some of our members from their time in IRON of Bismarck. Those who knew us in the past know that we have experienced our fair share of hardcore raiding, however we're now seeking to build something far more relaxed and easy-going.
Don’t get us wrong. We aim to clear FFXIV’s most formidable challenges at a good pace, but we believe progression should not come at the expense of external commitments. We seek to achieve a perfect balance of casual and serious gameplay.
LEADERS
Chainspell is unique in that it is headed by a group of five individuals sharing similar ideals and equally distributed power. We seek to embody the value of transparency in all of our actions, and will listen to the voices of our members and exist alongside them, not above them. Your input will be taken into consideration and acted upon, as Chainspell leadership’s prime purpose is to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. Organizing, mediating, and assisting are our main roles.
LOOT DISTRIBUTION
Our loot distribution system is an enlightened loot council. We have all seen the dark path that gear allocation can take with any system, and know where and how it goes wrong. We aim to correct all of the faults we’ve witnessed firsthand. There will be no nepotism and no “core group” of close players that gets precedence over everyone else. We are here to make sure everyone gets the loot they deserve.
Decisions regarding gear allocation are based on several criteria, including but not limited to:
-Your main job.
-Raid attendance rate.
-How often you’ve received gear compared to others in attendance at a particular event.RAID SCHEDULE
Chainspell has members that live all around the world, though most of our playerbase is currently PST. Likely raid times have yet to be fully determined. However, we're looking at the times listed below as strong likelihoods:
Also, there is the possibility of a late night shift (9:30PM PST-???) should enough interest be shown.Sunday 7PM-10PM PST
Thursday 7PM-10PM PST
Saturday 4PM-7PM PST
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US
Know first and foremost that new recruits are not inferior to the “old guard”. All newcomers will be welcomed readily into the fold and treated just as well as current members. There will be no cliques of “us” and “them”, and all members will be taken care of. Chainspell strives for fairness above all else.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
Maturity. We’ll curse like sailors, say inappropriate things, and goof off aplenty. But we also have people from all walks of life in our FC. Please respect those established lines and know when not to cross them. Also, no pouting.
Zero drama policy. All Chainspell members represent the FC wherever they go, and we prize being as far above the drama and trash talking as possible. FFXIV isn’t competitive, at least in regards to head-to-head interactions with other groups, so we don’t expect this to be much of an issue. If there’s an option for you to start or continue someone else’s drama, we strongly encourage you not to do so.
WHAT WE'RE RECRUITING
Regardless of how you wish to play, Chainspell welcomes all kinds of players. Be it the casual or the hardcore, the crafter or the raider, we would like to fill our ranks with new friends, and more importantly, skilled players. So, if you’re friendly, capable, and looking for a home, find us on Midgardsormr, or drop by our forums at Chainspell.com!
