    Disconnect problems with multiple PS3's

I am trying to play DC Universe Online with two PS3's. For weeks when both systems are on when my wife and I are playing one or both of the systems will disconnect from the game for no apparent reason. When one system is on the disconnects are fairly infrequent but still occur.

The router (a Actiontec MI424WR Rev. I from Verizon FiOs) also often restarts itself randomly, we don't notice it until we see our phones drop the WiFi signal.

Currently there are two phones, two PS3's, a PC, and 2 laptops connected to the router, so we believe there is too much taxing the router. But the problems even occur when we shutdown the wireless and connect only the PS3's.

It was suggested that I go to the manufacturers site and download any firmware updates, and going through my router I was up to date.

Both PS's were on a dynamic IP, I have since changed them to static.

When asking around I was told about port forwarding. I tried it on one of the PS3's and while it seems better it still disconnects, the other one still fails miserably.

I've had suggestions of trying to use the DMZ portion of the router or enabling the bridging feature, but that seems pretty complicated and I wanted to see if I could find anyone that may be able to help on here.

I've called Verizon and told them of these problems and they refuse to help without sending a technician in at a huge cost because they believe it is my wiring in my house that it is the problem.

I did replace all of the Ethernet cables on everything so those are all brand new.

Anyone have any ideas? Also, using a lot of acronyms and all that will make this a lot harder lol. While I know my way around building a computer, networking is not my thing at all. If you need additional information let me know.

Routers die, I've had it happen a few times. I have no idea what kind of end-user hardware is present with FiOS, but are you able to just plug one device in without the router? Would be a pretty easy way to determine if it is the router or something prior to that (either the lines, which is a bullshit excuse, or the modem).

I strongly suspect, however, that the router needs to be replaced.

None of the plugs in the house work besides the coax so I can't test with a hard line.

Yeah I've tried both on and off for the upnp.

I tried enabling dmz on one of the ip's to one of the ps's and I didn't receive any indication it worked. Even with port forwarding when I test the ports they still showed closed.

Even with all the issues I'm having I was able to play FFXIV yesterday for several hours with no problems. Of course that was just running around the city and a few fights outside the gates. Nothing too strenuous.
