I don't know how there isn't a thread for this yet, or at least one that I couldn't find through the search.

Anyway, despite The Office & 30 Rock having down seasons, I've really loved Season 2 of Parks & Rec so far. Finale is next week, but if you haven't watched the show yet go back and watch all of Season 2. Very reminiscent of how The Office evolved from a meh season 1 into one of the best shows on TV. Ron F'in Swanson is maybe the best character on television.

So season 2 is worth watching? I was really unimpressed with season 1. Felt like they were trying way too hard to be an Office clone.

Yeah I think I started the discussion in the Community thread, but I didn't want to throw that off-topic again lol

Last night's episode was great, I was cracking up at the end of the episode from Ron's face when he found out the government is shutting down.

[edit] Above poster: They retooled the series after the first season, fixed some problems with the characters, and now it's completely different. I haven't even seen Season 1 and it hasn't really affected how I watch the show at all.

I'll give it a try this weekend then. My buddy who introduced me to The Office loves Parks and Recreation. If it has been re-tooled I'll give it a whirl.

I loved Ron this week. "What's a not way gay of asking him to go camping with me?" was probably my favorite line from this week. However, it's kinda sad how every week in the Director's Cut version, like 90% of it is scenes with him, like this week he gave April a gun for her birthday.

Season 2 is amazing. Amy Poehler's character develops into something very un-Michael Scottish, which was one of the huge complaints some friends had from season 1.

The Jerry-breaking-his-arm episode, where he has his 'presentation,' had me dying of laughter. The Andy Samberg episode was hilarious too, iirc. Great show, definitely over the Office right now. Different humor style of 30 Rock.

Ben Shwartz, the guy that plays Jean-Ralphio, basically plays the same character in everything he does. He started out as a character with pretty much the same demeanor on CollegeHumor.

It kinda sucks that P&R has been picked up on for a 3rd season, but is currently one of the mid-season shows. I'm hoping that doesn't mean it has a chance of canceling later then it should.

One of the best comedies on TV, I love this show. I fell over when Tom was doing the voice of the puppy, "I'm just a lil' puh-py."

I love most everything about this show except for that large black woman who I can only guess was inserted into the show to have the required black person. I don't like her character at all and the first time I remember seeing her on the show I was like 'who the hell is this out of nowhere?'

I think it's more consistent than the office and is probably the #2 comedy show on right now behind modern family.

To me, none of the 4 finales really seemed like finales to me. The past few episodes have all been better finales to me. Ending with the department closing, Michael Revealing the printer problem, the Paintball game(although I guess that was just an awesome episode) and Jack and Liz having to deiced their life would have all been better endings, rather than them starting the story lines and then breaking just as they develop.

I think Parks & Rec was a pretty good transition to next season. Tom's new relationship (and the conflict with Ron sleeping with Wendy), the Ann/Andy/April triangle, and the park possibly shutting down all set up nicely for Season 3. Plus there seems to be a relationship between Ben & Leslie developing.

Worst part about this finale is that the show isn't starting again until January because Amy Pohler is pregnant.

New season finally starts tonight! Been waiting months for today.
