    Anyone from Dublin?

Hey, I'm going to be in Dublin for 2 weeks and was wondering if any BG'ers were from the area!

I'm guessing Dublin Ireland and not Dublin CA.

Correct, and not Dublin, OH Though I've been there and I actually like it a lot.

Work there but live in London most of the time.

What have you planned for your trip? I think I've given suggestions of things to do in Dublin before if you look through my post history.

Are you looking for any recommendations in particular?

If rich, would recommend 'Chapter One' a Michelin star (or multiple star maybe?) Haute-Irish cuisine.

Also, Easter is coming soon and this year is the centenary events of Ireland's independence movement from the UK. Research things related to that as it's a pretty exciting time. Kilmainham Jail is my favourite tourist attraction anyway, but would be extra exciting at this time. Guinness Storehouse is actually legitimately fun, and the pint you get along with the views of Dublin from the viewing area are amazing.

Depending on what brought you to Dublin for 2 weeks, you really should venture out of it for awhile. Galway for a weekend, Aran Islands on a sunny day (would take 2 days trip), Glendalock (sp) in Wicklow (day trip from Dublin), Giant's Causeway in Antrim (seeing Belfast too), Cliffs of Moher (while visiting Galway).

One of Dublin's biggest strengths is the quality of its pubs and nightlife. I recommend looking up some good bars (venture into Templebar only sparingly, it is grossly tourist-trap-y). Pmacs, and Grograns are two pubs that come to mind for me. Night clubs to go to would be 'Coppers' to see it (look it up first though; it is like a zoo). If you're a faggot I'd recommend Panti Bar and the George, and 'Sweatbox' on a Friday.

I'll keep an eye on this post if you have any questions.

    Thanks for the post.

I'm here for work so I'll have the weekend/nights free.

I'll look it up. I have a per-diem so... maybe?

I definitely plan on checking out Guinness this weekend. I'll check out info on Kilmainham Jail.

2 weeks of work. I'll be working M-F this week then M-W the week after. So I'll be here for St Patty's. I won't really have any weekend trips open. Is there any simple day trips(I don't have a car)?

Temple Bar is literally across the street. So it's hard for me to get past that. But I'll look up where those pubs are. I won't be checking out those other three you listed haha

    Thanks!

Tagging myself in this thread because I'm interested in the responses. My wife and I just booked a week in Ireland for the first week in October. We're spending two nights in Dublin, two nights in Killarney, and two nights in Limerick. We're for sure gonna check out Guinness while we're in Dublin, but we haven't planned out everything else yet.
