JoJo's Bizarre Adventure | R(emaster) (PC/PS5/XSX/PS4/XB1/NSW) - 2022

During a recent press conference to discuss plans for the 25th anniversary of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Japanese game studio CyberConnect2 took the stage to announce a very special project: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle. Many of you may remember the original JoJo’s fighting game that Capcom released here in the States back in 1998, which incorporated the manga and anime series’ Stands into the fighting system in a unique and entertaining way.

Though CyberConnect2 made their foray into fighters with the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series, this new JoJo’s project looks to stick very closely to the standard set by the original, presented in a 2.5D style similar to Street Fighter IV. Other information is scarce at the moment, but the game does seem to include the main characters of each individual story arc, including Jotaro Kujo, Gyro Zeppeli, and more.

Interestingly enough, this seems to clear up both the rumor of an HD JoJo fighter and Namco Bandai’s own teasing through their All Star Battle teaser site. The game has only been announced for Playstation 3 at this point, and the release date and regions are still up in the air, so we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

In what way? I don't see anything similar beyond them being based on the same manga. I mean, it's 3d with sidestepping, it can't really play anything like the old ones. Why would namco + cyberconnect2 want to be 'faithful' to an old capcom game in the first place?

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. also has online play with eight player lobbies and a matching system with skill points sort of like Super Street Fighter IV. The game comes out for PlayStation 3 on August 21 for $19.99 and Xbox 360 on August 22 for 1,600 Microsoft Points.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. will have an online matching system similar to Super Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. You’ll be able to choose opponents based on factors like location, skill and connection speed. Battle points can be earned for characters and player points for individual player strengths. Both will contribute to leaderboard position.

A multiplayer lobby system will also be included where eight players can play at a time, and winners will get to stay on, while losing players will be turned into spectators. You’ll also be able to save fight replays and share them with other players.

Famitsu has an updated preview of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle this week. All Star Battle is the new PS3 action fighter from Namco Bandai and Naruto developer CyberConnect2. It's not to be confused with Capcom's remaster of the classic arcade fighting game.

Here's a bit of what's revealed in the feature:

• The game will have a character count at the level one would expect of a general fighting game
  There will be a story mode of a different nature than normal
  There won't be quick time events
  Some complained that the sound effects in the game's reveal trailer were soft. The final version will have proper sound effects.
