Do you guys think I should buy this? I am not a PSP fan, but I was wondering if I would be able to sell it back for more essentially.. or it is a cheap way to get the system at least.

Yup, that's pretty much why I bought mine... I used it for a flight from LA to Atlanata, and then a few days after for the trip back.

Beat Valk. Profile during the two flights, didn't care for it after.

Okay, I've been reading that forum's posts for the past 10 minutes and I have no idea what the hell they're talking about...

All these upgrades and downgrades and firmwires and "bricks" and what have you is driving me nuts...

Is there an easy explanation as to how you can install this thing and get it to play PSX ISO's?

I think certain hacks for the PSP can only work based on the version your firmware is on your PSP. It gets upgraded by certain games and you might have to find a program that tricks your PSP into thinking it is back to an older version to run programs like that.

I haven't really read that topic, but I remember when I first got mine, I tried my best to keep it at its original version so I could play my SNES emulator on it without having to download one of those programs to downgrade the PSP.

The only upgrade I did was when I had to upgrade it to play Valkyrie. I believe it's 2.7 or 2.71, and according to that board you can down/upgrade to the PSX-playable one from it.

The problem is, there are like a MILLION topics there all talking about the same thing, and I have no idea where the actual instructions of installing the right firmwire to play the PSX games is at, and how I actually compress them down so they'll be small enough so I can put them on the memory sticks, and how I even do THAT.

Playing the PSX FFs on the PSP sounds awesome, but if it'll take me a week of research to get it down it's not worth it... plus I don't have the time.

I'm not really up to date on PSP stuff anymore, haven't really looked in a while since it's just collecting dust now, but I was kinda curious about the PS1 games fitting on a memory stick too lol. I have a 1 gig memory stick, but that wouldn't hold many PS1 games...

I guess I'll read more of that topic later.

Hell, I don't even care buying a memory stick for every single FF game if I must lol... but I saw there is a topic saying there is a way to compress all of them to a pretty small size so more can fit on a memory stick (and I have a 2gig btw.)
