So, Crackdown came out today. Anyone here pick it up?

I enjoy it, personally. Already beat it, though >.> It's a bit short, story-wise, but it's a really fun sandbox title.
Enough of the dumb GTA ripoffs....seriously.
Only good thing I see in that game is the Halo 3 multiplayer demo thingamagig... and it's not worth paying 60 bucks for.
Not really a rip-off when you think about, I love it so far.
It looks ok? Sort of steals off of GTA and Matrix (the high jumping). If anything the Beta for Halo 3 would be nice to get.
heads up: you have to keep the game to get the beta, you gotta download it from the ingame menu once it becomes available, also only the initial shipment will have the beta codes.
had maybe 15~ ppl ask about it today.
From all the vids I saw it certainly looked like it... is it actually worth playing? I assumed it was just a cheesy way to make people pay for the Halo 3 beta.
The guy that made it also made the original GTA so I'm not sure how much a ripoff it could be. However from what i read it differs from GTA a great deal. Supposedly really fun but lacks a lot of side quests to keep replay value once you've beaten the main game.Originally Posted by Exoduso
I have it on the way from Gamefly. Looks like a long rental sure. But a keeper? Ehh..
The game isn't worth the $63.59 unfortunately.
Also it sucks that you can't trade in Crackdown directly after you get the H3 beta due to the fact that you need the Crackdown disc.
I was going to crack a joke about other games that came with demos, but I couldn't remember what they were.... which I guess means something in and of itself.
I really hope that co-op makes up for the short lenght of the single player campaign.
Zone of the Enders just to get the MGS2 demo.Originally Posted by Stilgar

yes, some people did, some people bought it, took the demo out, traded it right back in.
DQ8 and ZoE were two good games though. I haven't personally tried Crackdown but it looks like GTA on steroids for kids with an even worse kind of ADD. Christ all the gameplay stuff I see is basically people jumping off things, catapulting cars or doing random destruction. I'll rent it one evening where I feel like mind numbing destruction... As for halo3 I'm going to wait patiently.
How long is the main storyline?
And what kind of sidequests are there to do? I want to try and pick up more 360 exclusive games.
The demo was fun. It's basically sandbox GTA + hulk ultimate destruction and some "leveling" your stats.Originally Posted by SassiAsura
This game is complete clown shoes. You cant shoot through glass. You can pick up automobiles and throw them, jump 2 stories, but you cant fucking pierce glass with a firearm. Design flaw as gaping as that makes me wonder what else is horribly wrong with this game
I can honestly say this: This is the most fun 360 game I have ever played. I see as drastically different than GTA because GTA is mainly only on the ground, while this game sure you can run down the street, but it is much much much more fun jumping from rooftop to rooftop, and finding more ledges/window sills so you can get to higher and higher roofs.
And it may sound like it wouldn't be fun, but probably the most addictive aspect of a game in years is the collecting of Agility and Secret orbs. The more Agility Orbs you collect the higher you jump and the faster you run. While secret orbs increase all of your attributes: Agility, Firearms, Strength, Explosives, and Driving. Part of what makes this game, superior to any other sandbox that I have played so far is the whole aspect of character development, which GTA just did not have to this extent. You get stronger and more agile and the appearance of your Agent changes, your driving skill increases and your cars themselves appear differently and get better.
Do not judge this game off of the Demo alone, I did not like the demo at all, and now I cannot put this down. Definitely pick it up!
