Just wondered whether anyone had established whether the goldsmithing requirement was less than 60 for this (doubt it).

Not expecting it to work in the slightest I tried synthing with 19 gold (lol), 52 leather and 91 cloth and as expected it told me it was above my level. So that puts it at above 34 gold which I don't think anyone is suprised at.

First, I made myself 2 threads of plat. silk (earth + plat. ingot + silk thread) first day on, just for shits and giggles.

Secondly, my levels at that time were Clothcraft 72.7 and Goldsmithing 57.3+1.

Thirdly, the requirement for Gold thread is Clothcraft 58, Goldsmithing 41.

I'd safely assume that the Goldsmithing requirement is gonna be in the 50's.

BTW, I got advanced CC support just to be safe, so not solid on that level either.

As plat ingots are ~60, I'd doubt that it's below 60.

If you need it crafted for your Midgar character, poke me and I can try it out for you.

As plat ingots are ~60, I'd doubt that it's below 60.

Just because something caps at a certain level, doesnt mean thats what it will cap at for subcraft.

Tiger Leather: 61 Leather Craft
items with a tiger leather ingredient and a leather sub requirement then would never be tier 1 (hi2u Hecatomb).

I did 2 synth without break or skillups with 53 gold sub ( cloth 98 atm )

not signifiant enough to tell the real gold sub needed

just a fyi- I look at plat. silk as the next logical step from silver thread>gold thread>platinum silk.

And all the previous ones require a goldsmithing sub LOWER than what is the cap for the ingot used.

Silver thread- Clothcraft 47, Goldsmithing 12.
Silver Ingot- Goldsmithing 20 with ore x4 recipe (the middleground recipe between beastcoins/ores/ore+nuggets)

Gold thread- Clothcraft 58, Goldsmithing 41
Gold ingot- Goldsmithing 53 w ore x4 recipe

Just something to ponder as I doubt we won't see many platinum silk synths to help pin down the sub needed for a while (considering you'll also need a 5k ampoule item from Einherjar to do any synth needing it.)

Successfully synthed at 90 CC, 51 GS with no skillups.

I'm betting on it being somewhere around 51-52 GS, but we'll need a good clothcrafter with crap for Goldsmithing skill to really test it out.

Cerberus Leather: Leathercraft (unknown, I'd say 85-95 though)
Scintillant Ingot: Goldsmithing (98)

There's absolutely no way that synth would be possible if synths were based on the levels of their ingredients.

While this is obviously the case when it comes to Kyudogi, generally speaking the level of the ingredient is a good indicator of what the requirements will be. Even in the case of the Kyudogi, it's automatically 60 because that's the highest a subcraft can be.

We need someone with goldsmithing around 25 and then 30-35 to confirm what this is. Just kinda curious. That's why I started the ball rolling with my crappy 19 gold lol. Should try with adv support I guess.

since your gold is 19 you are the best candidate! Assuming the level for cloth is 50ish, you'd need to get gold in the 30s which isnt that bad. Common this is for science!
