    Things to do

Hello all, I'm a newbish (I like to think I know what I'm doing, but I am by no means the best) 75THF and I've come across a predicament. After about 15 months, I finally got to 75.

    What do I do now?

The majority of my days entail me running around with my flag up, doing stupid quests/farming/things that get me nothing but a little fun. I don't have sea yet; I'm stuck on 2-5, and the majority of my LS has access to sea but doesn't really want to go back and help me. And I really don't trust pickup groups with crap like this.

So I guess what I'm asking is, are there any (fun) THF-friendly things that come to mind that are worthy of recommendation?

Hope you all don't mind me asking for help here.

If your shell is a social, try to find a HNM shell to get you going on Sky. If they're a Sky or HNM shell, then if they're any kind of a shell they should be busy most of the week. If they don't do Dynamis, find a Dynamis shell (I hope and pray you have a lot of buffer). Dynamis shells, somewhat unlike normal HNM shells, can never have enough thieves, so you're not likely to have much trouble. Also, if you can't find a good HNM shell right off the bat, a Dynamis shell will usually introduce you to people from many shells, who can probably get you into theirs if you're good.

If you can camp your own Thief Knife, which isn't that hard except for the whole .never% drop rate, then you go from being normal-grade TH whore to uber TH whore, and you'll wind up in just about every fight for at least the last 10%, regardless of shell.

If your shell won't help you get Sea, then you're stuck working with others at the same point as you. It's not always easy, but I know plenty of people who have managed it in pickups with only occasional help, if any. One guy in my shell went Promyvion to Promathia in two weeks. It's all about picking the right groupmates, and a bit of luck. Once you get Sea, you can either do Limbus with your shell (which, again, I'm sure they do if a lot of them have Sea) or find a group that does do it.

In any case, in many ways the game starts at 75. Just try to get some experience, and it'll look really good if you do some research and don't have to ask how to get to Despot on your first sky run.

    Good luck =)

Hehe, guess I should've mentioned my LS does sky and dynamis regularly. I don't really enjoy sky; it usually entails me standing around waiting to be invited into the alliance (rarely happens, we have a TH4 thf and he's obviously always in the party). We do Dynamis as well, which is a bit more fun (but sucks when I lose exp), but my LS has started doing mostly outlands, and I only have Jeuno and sandy cleared.

I guess I'll start answering more shouts for CoP, then...

find some friends and do the following; doesnt require any LS even and its best done with a small group anyways

Assaults: Even if you dont need points, im sure theres something you or your friends could use either to keep or to sell, plus the higher ranked ones are alot of fun to do regardless... also there is a small chance you can get rewarded with some nifty assault gear -- and if you dont use the point for anything, save them for either salvage in the future or until they introduce other items attainable by assaults.
Ranking up doesnt hurt either as probably they'll introduce something in the game that requires the highest rank in assault.

Salvage: Goes hand in hand with assaults, however minimum 6 people are required, but you're better off going with a solid group if you want to get through some of the harder zones. Much information is yet to be discovered about all the details.

ENMs: These cost nothing to do (except the solo enm) and you get free money and XP. Alot of ENMs can be duo'd or trio'd even though the recommendation says 6 members. Do some research and find out which ones sound like fun for you and your friends and offer good rewards and/or XP.

XP quests: There are 3 quests you can do weekly that net you an xp scroll useable for 700-1500 XP. 1 of the 5 escort quests (CN/GC/EN/Dangruf/Lufaise), Spice Gals, Sacrarium. All easy to do and can help keep your buffer up. (just remembered you're not that far in CoP, so last 2 quests you cant do yet, but keep it in mind)

Rematch Battles: After you get past a certain point in CoP, you can do some rematch battles, Uninvited Guests / Tango with a Tracker -> Requiem of Sin (this fight you can get X's Knife as a reward which is pretty cool for thfs)

NPC: Level an NPC in your spare time, if you already like to farm, just get one to tag along with you.

Craft: If you dont already craft, spend some time now. Dont need to be 75 to do this, but regardless, its something to do.

Merit: Im putting this last cause it might be sorta obvious, but you should have your thf merited.

mmmm those are all i can think of now and i didnt even mention camping kings! Theres tons to do in this game, just gotta find something you like.

    EDIT: heres some more

Nation Missions: Switch Nations and finish all the storylines. They're not overly difficult, but the final battles are kinda fun.

Zilart Missions: If you've only stopped at getting sky, finish the rest of these missions. Divine Might / Ark Angels fights are fun, as well as ZM17.

Chocobo Raising: Raise a choco for kicks.. i gave up on mine, but i know some people that are obsessed with raising chocobos.

Beseiged: Good to kill an hour or so, idk i find these fun occasionally.

Ashu Talif Battles: Personally i havnt gotten around to doing these, but you can score some crimson finger gauntlets -1 /kitty pants -1 for your THF.

The NPC is a good idea, they are suprisingly useful.

If you can find a bored RDM and NIN you can farm a FUCKTON of stuff easily.
