I think you need to use those eyeballs yourself there. The console wars thread is for bashing and general console vs console scumbaggery. However legitimate gaming console news is fair game for the General Discussion Forum, as explicitly stated in the first post of the console wars thread.

just to back this up It was an idea for ps2 at the time, until the ps3 started to get in to development and then they switched it over. so Yea it's not some rip off.

next time do a little checking in to before you pull out this Nintendo did it first shit, cuz thats all i here for most of the people that have a wii.

ps: anyone eels get a head ache watching that Mario galaxy video. Looks fun, just the camera changes and the dynamics started to give me a head ache.

I'm just saying it's weird that they decided to announce this NOW, after it's already been established that Wii has it... same with how they're bringing achivements to the PS3, maybe they came up with that first?

And I don't need to do some "checking into" for my opinion, I still think it's just another way to make people that already own the 360/wii turn their heads and see the PS3 is doing the exact same thing, and might decide that it's worth buying it after all.

And just to be clear, I own all 3 consoles.

Well Since it's really used as a tool for developers as weird as it seams. It better of them to save it form the launch and announce it at the GDC. If the announced it during the launch it probably would have been eaten up by the 500K PS3 units and price tag shit. GDC really is the best time for them to announce it then have it get over shadowed by something else.

I think a lot of the Wii-ers saying that this was a Nintendo Ripoff are going from the way it is being put out there.

The ad itself has a subtle dig at Mii's when it mentions that Home is much more advanced that similar offerings from "other consoles." And then there is "Nintendo's" response to the Home Keynote itself:

Anyway... i find it personally amusing that the video on Gametrailers showing the Home Trailer has actually interested me much more than most game demos. I just see how cool this could be.
