starcraft (1.15.0) login problems [firewall/router?]

well i decided to buy SC/BW (again) so i have something to do in my downtime...but..after [manually] downloading and installing patch 1.15.0, i cant login to battle.net

the first time i try, it gets stuck at "Accessing Account" after that, it stops at "Searching for fastest server" then quickly goes to "Unable to connect, check your router/connections etc."

here's the thing...ive opened the necessary blizzard ports (6112 TCP/UDP), ive even tried shutting my firewall down, and it all fails.

the bliz forums had some similar problems, but no solution.

i know this is kinda...well, out of many people's reach, but can any help me out here? [basically i just cant log into b.net]

You might be barking up the wrong tree--you might want to take some factors out of the equation.

I'd start by taking the router out of the picture. Direct connect to the modem--make sure you're able to browse (i.e, if you have a DOCSIS-compliant cable modem, you'll need to powercycle it). Once you have tested your internet connectivity, fire up the game. If you get in, it's the router. If you don't, hook the router back up and stay out of its firmware--if the same problem exists with the router removed, the router isn't the problem.

After that, I'd start by running MSCONFIG and disabling all startup programs and non-Microsoft services. That should get you logged in unless you have a hell of a problem. Then, start adding programs and services back in one or two at a time--or better yet, in great big hunks. (i.e., enable all the services. Problem back? It was caused by a service. Disable half of them. Problem still there? Disable half of the remainder. Problem gone away? Enable half of what is left, etc. etc. etc)

sorry if i was being unclear.

but anyway, i tried the direct-connection with my modem, but that didn't do anything.

i just tried msconfig and disabling everything, and i thought it worked for a second, cause it reached the Account page, but when i click "New account" it gets stuck on "Downloading Terms of Use" [i left it there for 5 minutes, nothing happened].

ahh...thanks for the info though, i tried sending in one of those "problem" things to bliz, but i doubt they'll respond.
