Merits and learning WS's

Hey folks. I have some merits invested in dagger. I hit 59 and I have 200 dagger skill but I dont show Dancing Edge on my list. Do I need to be lv 60 to get that ws? I'm confused.

Ahhh, that makes sense. I ran out of ammo, so I equipped some more then I noticed it. But I didnt realize thats why it showed up. Thanks!

Yeah I learn Gekko on sam early and just made a macro for it and it worked. No switching weapons. The weapons switch will let you see on list.

Similar question, I've got 1 sword merit and suppa for a total of +7 skill. The other night I was skilling sword for my upcoming Blu and I hit 200 skill(from suppa+merit) but the WS didn't show in the list. Now I know(thanks to this thread) that macro'ing or re-equiping would've worked. The weird thing is, when I hit 203 skill, the WS showed up in the list and I didn't requip the weapon or macro the WS. What's the deal there?

It's just a buggy thing. Cue the picture of "Some guy readies Sidewinder. Some guy's Archery skill rises 0.2 points. Some guy learns "Sidewinder!"

It may add the WS to the list after you get another skill level. I was skilling up H2H with no weapon on NIN earlier hit 100 skill (with two merits) didn't have the new WS. Got 101 and it was there. I didn't zone and don't think I equipped a katana.

It showing up in the list is just the client becoming aware that it should show it; or when it felt the desire to update it. The server on the other hand knows and is really the determining factor. Or at least thats my take.

I'm unsure if +skill items count for learning skills. I know merits will.

They do. I was using Slug Shot as lv53 Corsair w/ Gun Belt and Lv5 Markmanship merit.

The only thing merits and gear fail to do is allow you to flag WS quests.
