Random French Font Toggle?

I'm not really sure if I'm hitting a toggle button for font or something, but sometimes just randomly, my font will switch from normal apostrophes to these: `. I assume it's for some french or something because if you press apostrophe then e, you get è. It doesn't let me use quotation marks and messes up some of my other keys too such as ?. The problem randomly pops up in word, MSN, and on IE. If it switches to the french font, it will stay like that until I close the program and reload it, however, just because it loaded on one program doesn't mean it loaded on another.

Summary: Some font (likely french) randomly loads in a few programs that I use. It is annoying and forces me to restart the application. How do I stop thisÉ - (it just loaded randomly and É took over my question mark key)

I hope I explained this clearly enough but request clarification if you need it. This has been slowly driving me mad as I write reports, chat on MSN or use anything requiring IE, Word, or MSN

Make sure you only have one keyboard listed under Regional and Language options. Its somewhere in there.

Wish I had known about that it used to happen randomly on ffxi, I ended up having to actually restart my computer to fix it (restarting ffxi and pol didn't work)

This happened on a friend's Vista laptop a few weeks ago. If you accidentally press a combination of keys, something like Windows Key+Alt+E or something weird like that it'll switch over to French if you have a multi-lingual version of Vista installed. Laptop was a Toshiba Satellite made for Canadian market so needs English and French languages.

I'll search for that key command and see if I can find it for you.
