What determins which gets placed 1st/2nd etc in regions? I counted up todays regions on the page and sandy has 5 regions, windy has 4, but it is listed as windy being 2nd and sandy 3rd. I don't get it, am I missing something?

Perhaps each region becomes more valuable as it ascends the scale of OP price band?
Like, saru, gusta & ronf being low points, vollbow, faure~ & vauld~ being more valuable?
I remember reading something like the amount of "points" you won the region(s) by. Say Bastok and Windurst both got 3 regions, but Windurst beat Bastok. Bastok beat Windurst for Kuzotz, Zulkheim, and Vollbow by 1 "point" each, but Windurst won against Bastok for Elshimo Lowlands, Uplands, and Kolshushu by 5 "points" each.
I think they have a weighted point value too, sky and northlands should be more than zulkheim and such.
Oh boo.
Fuck that shit, that's what put Bush in office.Originally Posted by Remy0

I always thought it was based on pure Conquest Points earned. Zones seem to be their own thing- whoever earns most in that zone, gets it. But for instance, Bastok could win all but 1 zone by 1 point each... and Windurst could win that last zone by 100,000,000 points, only have one zone, but have conquest control.
Again, that's just how I understand it. It may not be that way, but it makes sense, no?
I noticed once when it didn't add up right, that it would work if you took their rank from the previous conquest period (something like 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points, 3 = 3 points) and added that to their total regions in this conquest period to determine the new ranking. I meant to pay attention and see if that pattern held or if it was just a coincidence, but I never bothered to lol
Slightly related, but I’ve been wondering this for a while. Some time ago there was a spate of the all the OPs outside cities changing hands. Unfortunately I couldn’t log on for the whole of this time and missed one of them. (Bastok iirc). My final residence is in Windy, (Rank 10 all nations.) But I’d like to trade enough equipment for the region for fall under Windy control. I’m prepared to spend some money to do this. What’s the cheapest and most efficient method?
I vaguely recall something about trading loads of really cheap bolts, but it was a year or more ago.
Also, I can’t look at Wiki or any other sites at work, so if you do have a source please paste info here.
Thanks. :D
I had my own theory of this one time as well. Pretty much went something like, if you were first in a region you get 3 points, second 2 points, and third 1 point.
Whoever has the most after the tally wins.
hough I figure it's probably much more complicated. It has to take 10(?) + minutes to tally conquest for some fucking reason.
I pray the 10mins thing is just done for suspence.
I think its kind of a combination of a couple things already stated.
We know that they have different values based on region teleportion (When bastok doesn't control vollbow its 1500 gil, when it doesn't control saruta its 300). And obviously your rank in the zone will effect how the conquest is tallied (I know the rank of your nation effects how many conquest points you earn in that particular zone).
Anyways, I probably sound retarded already, but what I'm suggesting is that each region has a set number of points in it, for example lets say Saruta is 6 and Vollbow is 30. (30 being 5 x 6, the 5 coming from 1500/300 for teleportation, purely hypothetical numbers used for convenience) Your nations rank would determine the amount of points you would get, for example:
(Going 1st, 2nd, 3rd)
Saruta: 3 2 1
Vollbow: 15 10 5
This would make it so holding your home nations wouldn't effect conquest as much as say holding a northlands region. I dunno, its what I was able to come up with since I can't play on my lunch hour due to maintenance. Actually testing it would take way more time than I'm willing to invest, but it would be interesting to see the actual tally method.
hawkeyes was always how I influenced things, I had a whole shitton left over from skilling on a mule though, so that had alot to do with my choice.Originally Posted by spooky
