USB Wi-Fi Setup

Does anyone have experience with USB Wi-Fi dongles at all? I have a cable connection that feeds only one computer, so I don't have a router. I want to be able to use my PSP online, though. Do those USB Wi-Fi things allow you to send out a signal from a PC, or are they for something totally different? Also, if these are what I need to get things working, does anyone have a recommendation on brand/model? Thanks

USB Dongles will provide your PC/Laptop with a wireless connection, allowing you to pretty much do anything that allows wireless connectivity using 802.11g; same as a wireless laptop.

With just the dongles and no router, I wouldn't be too worried about brand as long as it's well known; Belkin would be a good option or Dlink as both are easy to use.

Edit:
I've never used a PSP so i'm unfamiliar with the wireless config. You might be best having someone confirm you can configure your PSP to use an internet connection through a PC.

for as much as the dongle costs, you could get a decent wi-fi router hooked in and not need to worry about a tricky configuration.

I seriously distrust using USB for networking, since historically it has been incredibly buggy.
