Ok, so recently, I moved into my university's residence, and they have a wireless network that I am currently connected to as I post this. I have no issues with the internet, but I am unable to connect to the FFXI lobby server, the WoW server, or to my filesharing program, Ares. Anyone know how I can fix this, or get around it?

They probably blocked ports.
Complicated fix: SSH Tunnel + Socks5 server.

Yeah, unless you buy the dedicated internet service in your Res room (if it's available) most universities block common P2P and online gaming ports to save bandwidth.
