So over the summer I wrote a large essay on skinheads from 1960-now and my friend thought I should try to get it published.
Anyone know steps on how i would get that done? I’ve googled, but i just get books and medical stuff.

Is it good?
Well most of them think the ABC book is the greatest book ever, but Jake who has been working on his masters for American literature said it was better then some of the trash they have had him read.
Is it historical, psychological, sociological, or political in nature? If it's an academic piece, then ask around at the appropriate department at your university/college and they may be able to point you towards publications that take student submissions. Additionally, you should be prepared to re-write large portions of it prior to publishing and to have it peer reviewed. Lastly, if you don't have a MA or better then expect to get rejected in any publication unless you come with the recommendation from a previously published author; academia's quite the ivory tower.
If it's more of a creative essay then ask your lit friend about local and regional journals publishing stories or information pieces.
